I was there, parents live in Masham - best bit is when on a Saturday night, the entire sight goes to the market square at 6pm. Then you can just pick a spot, and watch everything go past. Parade took over an hour, there was a fair amount of steam rollers, steam wagons, etc.

you are wrong, I get in there with a 4 axle wrecker wagon and I got round tighter while dragging a full length bus. Its all about knowing where and when to turn. The position of the wheels on the bus is nothing to do with getting round tight turns. They are positioned to allow a lower entry and flat floor for the majority of the length of the bus. Optare Solo's have the steering axle in front of the driver, albeit less over hang at the front

Here’s a tip, when turning always look at the indicators positions as well ur wheels position to the road by using ur mirrors, and when turning check the mirrors of the side of the bus that’s gonna swing out so you don’t hit any cars

Doesn't really matter that the wheels are behind the driver. It's the position of the wheels that's relevant, not the drivers position in relation to them.

I remember when buses coming from the west to the bus station used to go via Hartington Road, Grange Road and Bretnall Street.

Sigh. Another station that is a shadow of its former self. When I used it in the 1970s, there were three tracks, one going into the station building and there was a siding which would take one goods van. Between West Dyke Road and Redcar Lane crossings there were sidings, not that I ever saw them being used. The former station master at Redcar Central was the Scout Master of Saltburn scouts! (extra trivium for good luck)
