Elastocon – ISO 812 Brittleness test
This video shows a brittleness test on rubber according to ISO 812 performed with Elastocon's brittleness tester ET 05-II.
Determination of low-temperature brittleness on rubber materials according to ISO 812 is a very important test method for materials to be used in colder climates.
The purpose of testing brittleness on rubber material is to find the temperature where it does not exhibit brittle failure at cold temperature.
Elastocon is accredited to test low-temperature brittleness according to ISO 812 in our testing laboratory.

This video shows how simple it is to determine low temperature stiffness with a Gehman test according to ISO 1432. Analysing low temperature stiffness is performed to see the behaviour of rubber materials in cold climate. The test is performed by rotating the test pieces 180° in cooled ethanol.
