I’m very surprised at the poor service that you got for your lunch. I don’t blame you for being upset at the long wait for your food. I would be too. However when we were on the Jewel at the end of October 2024 we never had bad service or a bad meal in O’Sheehan’s . We ate there everyday and enjoyed our food, whether it was breakfast, lunch or supper. The chicken wings were excellent. The fish & chips were good . A carrot cake was delicious.. it may have not been the best restaurant on the ship but we found it much better than eating at the buffet. Maybe we were just lucky and you weren’t on your cruise. I still would go back to O’Sheehan’s and eat there again. Better luck next time.

First time NCL cruisers just got off 12 day Caribbean cruise out of Tampa on Jewel. Two Major problems were horrible management of smoking allowed in the casino that ruined the walk to and from the large showroom at the front of the ship every night and the cigar smoking room attached to a large bar and seating area that offered nightly music. Every time some smoker dude (or drink carrying wait staff) entered or exited the room, out belched a huge blast of horrible smoke into the nonsmoking area where people were seated. This ship needs to join the 21St century and figure out a better way to handle the air pollution problem…maybe move a few slot machines and the cigar room out back of the ship where foul air can join the smokestack gas wafting away as we sail along. The second major problem on Jewel was the completely non working text feature app for cell phone use…only the voice mail feature worked (which wasn’t audible in most locations due to other noise)…and who does voice mail on a ship these days…we all text. This $10 apiece feature was a real loser. To be fair we were warned at the IT desk that there was a “bug” in the texting part of the app when we paid the $10…but still…isn’t that something that could be fixed by now? Again, someone in authority needs to hunker down and make this ship/company feel like a modern cruising experience. Or alternatively, perhaps advertise this as “want to relive the 1950s with smoking sections in restaurants and no cell phone texting? Join us on the Jewel for your next cruise!”. Not us. 🤮

In your description you call the Mexican restaurant "Lost Lobos" - Which is ironic as Los Lobos has become lost - It has been removed to give Cagney's more room.

I think I would. That boarding process seemed a bit much. Also the dining room for lunch was different

Would you sail on an older ship like MSC Armonia?

It was a fantastic week my friend!

Wow, what a difference from our show experience on this ship. When we sailed on 2/25/24, center stage was pretty much not running. LED panels were open showing the water the whole cruise, just musicians playing there for the most part. Really felt ripped off especially after cruising on Mardi Gras in '22 and LOVING all the shows. I've nearly written off Carnival altogether because of Celebration. Shows and room-temp food at the buffet and MDR. Will say Fahrenheit was awesome, but Rudi's was horrible.

Looked at all the MDR menues and surprised to see some traditional cruise favorites missing: No Prime Rib night. No Lobster night. No Shrimp Cocktail. No Escargo. Those are just my favorites that I'll be missing. What's your favorite MDR staple that is missing?

I highly recommend anyone who has a night port stop in Victoria to walk into town to catch the lighting of the parliament building and see the Fairmont Empress Hotel all lit up. It’s a little bit of a walk but very scenic and worth it. Really enjoyed the cruise vlog!! I can’t wait for my next Alaskan cruise!
