LNER A1 Pacific 60163 ‘Tornado’ Returns to Traffic after a 2 year overhaul!
Having not seen her in roughly 5 Years, Walking down the steps into Loughborough Central was magical. With her gleaming Apple Green Livery.
Having a lovely meal in the griddle on the outward, it was lovely to hear the chime and LNER whistle and calming chuff past the reservoir.
I knew leaving Leicester North up the 1 in 175 with an instant speed limit change of 10-25, 60163 made light work of it and barked her way to Rothley. Some more noise out of Rothley and a subtle rise back to Loughborough. We enjoy some more thrash one another trip to Leicester and back to Rothley behind Tornado.
At Rothley, we change to 6990, ...

What a magical day! We start at Kidderminster Mainline Station, where D1015 flies through with lovely sound and countless tones. Wonderful coverage Toby, I particularly enjoyed the onboard sequences with the Hall; some great thrash there! I was filming 4930 at Hay Bridge (in the field on the other side); that smoky exhaust does look quite spectacular on film! Brilliant stuff, I've liked and subscribed accordingly. Kind regards, Adam 🙂

btw, do you know if these will still be in service between July 28th and August 1st? That’s when I’m going to Birmingham and went to get a ride on these
I can’t confirm or deny, but the new trains are slowly being introduced in, there are still a lot of 323s left, I can’t imagine they will be gone by august 1st. Hope that helps :)

I caught up with the earl at stoke works junction And it’s very rare to have the Shakespeare express to have start at the different locations first Worcester and now Leicester as their new starting points instead of starting at snow hill as usual

@@Tobys_Trainsyeah we don’t normally have the Shakespeare express ever come here at bromsgrove at all So that means this year Leicester and Worcester are the new starting points for the Shakespeare express

I caught that tour myself at stoke works And I’ve been told that this tour is the last one for these two because they are trying to do a repaint on 50007 because look it’s painting is fallen apart
It’s their last tour in GBRf colours, as they are requested to be in large logo blue for a tour in august, so they haven’t bothered repainting the cab if it’s about to get a new livery
