These two soloists have achieved a very fine balance between the two instruments as they 'talk' to each other. Both violin and piano have melodic and wonderfully intertwined parts, which work best if a careful balance is captured between allowing each instrument to sing sweetly without drowning the other. That balance is nicely captured here, allowing Faure's exquisite music to be fully appreciated.
