    Is this connected to a scanner for scanning or is this software for post-processing data? Can DIY scanners be used?

      Hi there, thanks for asking! PointKit Scan offers post-processing compatibility with generic point cloud data from various manufacturers, including DIY scanners. To utilize scanning capabilities, a Polyga scanner is required.

      Yes, it can! PointKit scan supports generic point cloud data formats like PLY, OBJ, etc., from other manufacturers. However, scanners with customized data formats may not be supported. Currently, PointKit scan is free, feel free to test it out here: www.polyga.com/w3/pointkit-scan/

    Thank you very much for the video. I have been using Xtract 3d now for 2 years. It works great but we need more tutorial videos such as this!! It has been very limited on "how to instructions". Please keep the Xtract 3d videos coming.

    Compare to other softwraes this one seems to be time consuming.. a lot of clicking to get the shape. Need to be imporove!

    Terrible demo! Do you provide a detailed guide /training on using this parametric? Or do you record all of your training correspondence in x10 sped up video format and hope it is sufficient for end user to figure out on their own?

    Do you know why the snapping tool and fit tool are always greyed out for me? I am trying to use them with an .e57 pointcloud.

    The snap and fit tools work for point clouds the same way, just make sure you're clicking on the red outlined dots, otherwise the points might just be too far.

    Hi Thomas. You're still left with one surface body and one solid body. IMO the tutorial would be further improved if you delivered a solid body in this kind of tutorial, as usually users are trying to avoid any remaining surface bodies that cannot be formed into solids. That is the whole point really. Otherwise excellent.

      Thanks for the feedback! It's hard to see but at the last step the intersect tool will delete remaining surfaces bodies resulting in a single solid. In the interest of keeping, the videos going quickly sometimes the small steps are glossed over.
