Wow, really good song. It has depth in feeling, writing and production. Great layering of sounds. I really appreciate what you did on the Voice, watching your story, reminded me once again that dreams really do come true. I do realize that Keith had to choose one, and it needed to be the person in that one moment he felt was most marketable, I'm guessing, after being trained. You were our favorite, with a very sweet and humble personality. We love your story, and we wish you all the best in your career. My wife and I will look in on you from time to time. I just have a feeling there is so much more inside that is being contained...I think if you could work towards a little more vulnerability and feel and let your fans see you feel the words you just sang - I think you would be unstoppable. This is very good stuff, even if a bit pitchy. NOTHING will help you hone your vocals better, than performing live. Confidence, Stage presence, all important aspects of being an artist. You did a really good job of tossing to your band mates as well- it can be a bit awkward at times, I know. One thing that I believe will help you with your pitchyness starting out a song, and when coming to the end? Breath Control. It's something you'll need to work on all the time? until it becomes second nature. Running short on air leads to all kinds of bad things- to include death.... lol - little joke there, don't freak- You're young brother, so I know it's hard to not just go full-force- but if you really want to do this? You're gonna have to sacrifice some things. One thing you can do on your own, without a good vocal coach, which I recommend you find- they're very good at teaching breath control, is nothing harder than holding your breath for as long as you can underwater. Once you see say... 30 seconds longer of improvement? Start doing the same while swimming under water, until you can last as long as you did while just resting. This will help your breath duration, and was one of the things I used to do all the time while younger? Cause we were always heading out to the lake, or a pool, or a near-by stream. There are even some free RUclips vocal coaches who I can recommend, if you're interested. These are just videos, w/zero obligation to buy anything- But if you see improvement, and wish to learn even more? YOU can decide if that's something you want to do. It takes time, but you're in a great place right now, because you still have a whole lot of it in front of you. Keep on Truck'n!

Remember to stay true to YOU. You've ZERO NEED of constant effects & commercialization. Sure, it's a good way to turn you into some cookie cutter edition of every other artist out there- it's also a good way to turn you into just another generic wannabe. This song has far more potential, than the way it was produced here. A couple aspects are worth keeping, not much else, imo. The world loves UNIQUE. Teeny-boppers love the flash-in-the-pan, emotional grab-ass stuff. The "Rebel" for good, who's willing to fight for the AVERAGE person, who's willing to cling to their morals & values, no matter what may come? Is the next great artist, who will win the day- and, in the end, have their CHOICE of who they sign with. Be desperate for nothing. While time does fly? You're still young, you're talent isn't going anywhere, and YOUR music is about YOU, your life, your experiences, and the things you want to share with those who already love your music, voice, & and who you are as a person. Do this? And you'll not only attract the very best of fans, THEY, through word-of-mouth, posting & sharing, and your own abilities, will bring you what you seek. Stay true to you. I've shared this with others in the past- they refuse to listen, because they get caught up in all the glitz, glamor, attention, and desire for the "quick fame". THAT is what's natural. THAT is what SEEMS like the normal thing to do. Many have been down that road. Many have failed. So far, none of them have found what they were looking for, taking this path. Find your musical DNA. You already posses it, obviously. But in the rush GREAT artists find themselves in? They LOSE it, trying to please others, and follow other's advice. Go back to what you love. Think about Keith Urban deciding to join you on-stage. THAT was YOU- Free-flowing & having an insanely great time. THAT was YOUR musical DNA. Not hard to go back & find it- Only realizing you've wandered from it, is. My advice? Come up with a very simple, very catchy song, about YOU- your youth, what you had to deal with? And say, a small victory through that trial. Put it together, and post THAT online. PUNCH the world with YOUR STYLE, and see what happens. Do all that, and need help with mixing/mastering? Let me know, maybe I can help. Be a blast to do so. Just be sure to drop a copyright on it- I already know it would be well worth the price- and it's not all that expensive anyway. You got this.
