They're not. A lot of early mantic models had round 'puddle' bases attached to the models feet, which slotted into these recesses.

Thank you! A colour forge purple undercoat base, and Army Painter Fantatic (Most Wanted set) green and purple for the armour. The guns were Oro Acryl dark grey with Pro Acryl black wash. I might have Targor rageshade in the panel lines?

@ okay thank you i will have a look and i will check them out, how are you finding the printer so far? Are you completely beginner? I used to have a creality through lockdown but spent more time fixing the machine than printing so i ended up selling it

@ThePsychologyDad ah yes ok, so the printer was the hobby? I'm really happy with it! Printed something pretty much every day so far. The 'it just works out of the box' was a major draw and so far is holding true. I even changed the nozzle yesterday and it was really easy.

@@TableTopMagpie yeah pretty much😂 Oh really getting good use out of it then and yeah that’s what draw me to it as well, I’ve seen so many positive things about it and what size did you change too? I wanted to get the 0.2mm but it was sold out and I’d really like to get a resin printer at some point too

@ I switched out to a .2 to try a couple of miniatures. Had great success with 1, but the auto supports did me dirty on the second but the results were still pretty decent. I think there is a certainly a line where resin is going to the better option though.

that was my experience, i would advise against hold on buckets. better to have a shield with a solo poop bucket underneath. because the printer shakes the surface in normal operation, you'd probably want to use foam pads under the bucket

It's on the desk with my paints and brushes so I can hear those shaking around more than the poops. I just wanted to print stuff I'll have a look at alternatives soon enough.

Excellent news! I'm having so much fun with this. It just works! I'm going to have a go at some miniatures over the next few days.

I was really disappointed at first to be honest, I'd only had the A1 for a day when it all kicked off. There's still a fair bit I'm not aware of I think, I've only seen a handful of reaction videos on here. I am probably a perfect rube for Bambu though, being an entry level consumer grade customer. I'm not interested in printing *for* a hobby, I'm printing to add to my hobby. My experience so far has been incredibly positive just using the SD card that came with it, the Handy App, and Bambu Studio so no desire to look at 3rd party software yet. Check back in 6 months! ha haa

@@TableTopMagpie Same. Unsettling but digging into the facts, it seems overblown...for now. Worth keeping an eye on but a lot of speculation and disinformation. Everyone should take a breath. Bambu didn't get where they are by being stupid. They'll kill their market if they follow through with everyone's worst fears.

Ah man I lost the reply I was typing out! In short I see why folks got angry, it was a shit move from BL. But like you I'm going to be a very basic user, I'm not currently interested in 3rd party software or slicers and so far my experience has been excellent, I even downloaded and am currently printing a building file from Corvus Terrain that I just dragged into Bambu Studio and it just works.

@TableTopMagpie awesome, yeah I don't even know what 3rd party software i would even want to use, I'm ignorantly new at this lol. If you can take a file, hit print and it works... im sold. For the price i don't see anything else comparable quality and speed wise. I will mainly be using this for gaslands car add one. Armor, weapons etc. I've seen what this machine will do with a .2 nozzle and im sold. If the company policy effects me in the future I'll deal with it accordingly but for 200 bucks I can't see this being a fail even if I sell it for half value in a year. It's an entry point to 3d printing and that's what I need

So I jumped on to the Bambu sub Reddit last night and saw it all kicking off. Yikes. I need to read up on it a bit more but yes it certainly seems like an 'interesting' decision to roll it out to the higher spec units. I was really pleased with how the printer just works with no messing around.

Oh I'm not sure to be honest. I updated it earlier today but have only managed to get one print off. It looks great but it's just the basic Swatch Palette thing.

Prime white and use speed paints/ contrasts it will flow over the the places you cant reach, then hit it with some nuln oil. you can always remove excess contrast or oil with a clean dry paint brush.

It's actually easy. Paint the inside of the drain, the rat, and the grate, in that order. Doesn't matter then if you get rat colours on the bars of the grate, etc, because you'll cover your mistakes.

Paint the rat first with some watery paint over a white prime so you can slop it on. After that you can just continue with the rest of the base

They're really good examples of modern sculpting and manufacturing techniques, I just don't like the mainly comic book look of the costumes. But the Spider Friends minis are SUBLIME! Enjoy your games, and roll well!
