Thanks for thinking thoughtfully about this! From day 1, Christianity claimed that Jesus bodily rose from the dead. That is NOT a myth that established over time. Scholars agree that the creed from 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 was spread from Christians to Christians less than 3 years after the death of Jesus. From the very beginning of Christianity the claim that Jesus rose from the dead the central feature of the growing faith. In Mark's account, who do you think the stranger is? Just because Mark did not call the messenger an angel does not mean it was not an angel. In fact, the fact that the women left bewildered and trembling suggest it was an angel and not a normal person. Also, clearly the women did tell someone even though it wasn't originally written in the gospel. How else would it have been written down if the women didn't ultimately tell someone? How do you account for the disciples' claims of seeing the risen Jesus? And how do you account for the empty tomb?

@@GrahamChapel Actually that is not true. There were many christians who did not believe in a bodily ressurection. Docetism, for example. Again, my point was that the myths grew over time, scholars agree that later scribes wrote additional passages that was not originally there. Again a myth developing and then early writings being added to be long after the original author had died. Myth making in front of our eyes. We don't know. All we know is that the author of mark says there was a stranger, did not say it was anything other then that and that nobody told anyone about the encounter. What we don't have is an angel, or two angels as later myths add in. Remember you can create your own gospel out of all 4 if you want to but that is you creating a new gospel. Next you haven't shown there was an empty tomb. All you have is a claim of one. I have no reason to think Jesus was placed in a tomb. The author of Mark is not an eye witness to these events, he's repeating oral stories that came about decades after jesus died. In fact much of Mark is almost identical to other stories in other gospels, they were sharing/copying text with each other, this was not a source who is reporting their own take on things in many cases. After a religious cult leader dies we often see claims of their life after death or spiritual visits, it's nothing new. People say Elvis is still alive after all. You really should not just blindly accept these myths as true it's very unsettling how blind people can be.
