Ah yes...THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN! Truly a case of NEVER SAY NEVER if there ever was one. Just when you thought we had had lost this forever...these guys go and do the unimaginable and absolutely KILL IT! Just wish they could have figured out how to get Michael Anthony back into this (double bass ...just saying). Thankful for ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES gentlemen. AMERICA'S GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND EVER! Sorry Aerosmith, Guns and Roses and Metallica, take a number and get in line puppy dogs 🤪

I was there. Either this night or the other Friends and Family night at the Forum in Los Angeles. They did two "final rehearsals". Zack Wylde, the guys from Steel Panther(Atomic Punks alumni) and others were there too. About 1000 of us crammed up to the front of the stage for this. It was one hell of a night.

Revisiting this clip 15 years after the fact makes me smile and sad all at the same time. I took my wife and kids to the second show of the tour in Greensboro NC. It was a fantastic show and the arena felt like it was gonna implode when they stopped in the middle of I’m the One. It was so great to see Eddie and Dave hug and looked genuinely happy. This was the last tour where Dave’s voice held up AND he actually remembered the lyrics. Eddies playing got even better by the 2012 and 2015 tour. He was a machine both shows I saw on those tours. Dave’s voice wasn’t nearly as good as the reunion tour. I’ll always be in mourning of Ed’s passing and of Van Halen the band, but I’m so grateful for all of the music they gave us since day one. I’ve lost count of all of the shows I’ve seen, too many for me to remember. But VH will always be my favorite rock band. R.I.P. Eddie forever the GOAT. 🙏🎸

If Van Halen reforms as a tribute or for any length of time Wolfgang Van Halen should be the Lead guitarist no questions asked. Wow, this is the only time I've heard Dave be able to 75% pull off his old trademark scream! Sounded great. He didn't do it at all as I remember seeing them in 2012. In the early 2,000's on the Sam and Dave tour it ws atrocious and I'm a huge Dave fan.

This is still one of the greatest things I’ve seen. Such gusto. When I saw this clip I opened my wallet to see them in Greensboro for show #2 on this tour. I’d waited 28 years for that moment. Sniff sniff.

I was 15 when this tour happened, and wasn’t yet into VH. I would give my fucking right leg to have seen one of these shows. And I’m a drummer 😂

Ed had not been sober for very long at this point. It had only been a few months that he had been out of rehab. Before he went in, he looked like death. Here he looks so much better with his hair cut, some weight on him, and his playing is second to none.

They did to many rehearsals IMO . If you compare DLR vocals in these practice sessions against his vocals on the Tour he sounds better in these rehearsals !! To the comment Below YES The Mighty Van Halen is Alive with DLR on stage next to Eddie ...

I was at this concert in April of 2006. I got there a week prior TDY for the Air Force. I hit a slot machine called double gold for $1200 at NY-NY and ran across to MGM and bought a ticket for this concert and for Billy Joel the night after the Queen concert. They both cost me $150 a piece for the 5th row but it was well worth it. In the summer of 1984 I saw both bands for $15 each in Portland, Oregon while stationed with the Navy at Swan Island.

Wow....both Eddie and Dave appeared to be in much better physical shape in 2007 than they were in 2012. More energy...and though Eddie is playing great now, Dave's voice is having problems now. They went downhill fast.
