Rockman X6 - Infinity Mijinion (No Damage, Hard, Minimalist, Buster-only)
Yet another run like this, except done with further limitations.
I've felt, for a rather long time, that my runs aren't really as interesting as... some others.
Where some handled the stage portions with ease, I chose to handle them in particularly odd ways in this run.
Where some handled Illumina with some kind of high risk factor to their dodging, I chose to try and at least show off a little.
Where some handled Mijinion without destroying his clones, I chose to do the same, but compensating my failure at handling particularly extreme scenarios with limiting myself to try and defeat him as quickly as I could while not destroying even a single bubble.
But you know what was the biggest differ...

The brutality of X6 is what makes it great.
X in X7 is probably the strongest version of himself gameplay wise I mean I myself was simply wondering on why he was so OP not to mention how extremely broken the Glide Armor makes X, But then I remembered that it's some what of a reward and doesn't have to do much about it lore-wise lol
The Glide armor is also probably the second most powerful armor in the X franchise
X7 is peak Rock Man experience

I'm always beyond impressed whenever you handle anything related to Mijinion, be it the boss fight or the stage. In my opinion, it's always incredibly entertaining, so no need to stress too much about that. You've done excellent work in 2024, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in 2025.
Incredible work! I've often seen this fight lamented as one of, if not the most difficult fights in the franchise, especially under your restrictions, and you still made it look quite routine.

Love seeing more Kirby challenges. Excellent work dancing around, just barely avoiding his variety of slashes. It does make things quite exciting despite the lack of an ability.
Very nicely done. The more runs of this stage I watch, the more I appreciate its design. The Spikings can be irritating, but the rest of the level is well crafted to allow you to speed through even with the limited offense you have early-game or in Hard Mode, as you've demonstrated here. There is a way to avoid waiting for any Totem Cannons. You have to hit the crystal on top of the first weather control machine so that the winds push you forward earlier in the level, then race past the camera. You can see it done in the WR speedrun, albeit with some tanked hits.

The first half of The Recycle Lab is tolerable thanks to the Ride Armour preventing the player from getting Squished by the Trash Compactor. but the 2nd half is Awfully punishing. There’s a Conveyor Belt, spikes, Nightmare Viruses will annoy you, Ice Platforms caused by the Nightmare Phenomenon Via Blizzard Wolfang’s stage & the Toilet Seat is thrown at the player.
I don't really understand what the point you're making is...? The spikes are mostly isolated and few in number, and the ice/conveyor belt aren't exactly additional obstacles, and can be used to gain an advantage. The main difference is in the stage design itself, and how it uses the previous obstacles (and new ones) differently, with it being *less* heavy on Nightmare Virus usage, but having them in areas where you have to be both more aggressive and planning to take them out. I don't want to say the second section isn't hard, but rather that it doesn't achieve it's difficulty through overwhelming the player. The stage as a whole punishes lack of strategy, and the second area goes further with that to increase difficulty.

6:38 The whole point of the animations being as fast as they are, especially in 2 and 3, is so you can get through faster, raising your rank. In 2 and 3, if your rank is high enough after defeating a boss, you get an EX Skill from it.
Eh? But the time requirements aren't demanding enough for the fast animations to make *that* much of a difference. The enemy requirements, on the other hand, tend to be more strict, and enemy combat is heavily influenced by those animations, especially with how a lot of the tech requires getting used to the faster animations and being comfortable with them. This video is rather unpolished though, so I don't think I made it clear enough that it was more of a matter of preference to me than anything

Excellent analysis of the stage and everything that makes it tick. It's interesting to see how many unique ways the press can present an obstacle to the player depending on the approach taken. Definitely looking forward to more of these types of videos.

Oh yes, the stage which stopped me from seeing Gate's lab as a kid. X6 was my first Mega Man game, and still my favourite. To this day I haven't beaten it.

The difference it can make is certainly big, a quick clear of the stage can be around 2 minutes if using specific methods for the midbosses.
Why is z buster so weak like is it really worth losing the fourth armor over it? No atleast x6 buster was good but in what cost nothing but on x5 on what cost? One of the most powerful armors on the game
No idea, it was rather weak during X5's development as well, so it might have been an odd decision, or maybe they didn't focus much on it

@marx4538 probably better than press disposer. I thought avoiding Godkarmachine o inary is good until i realize that it's an opposite. Press disposer is floor is lava moment + The hook creates a lag.
Press Disposer is definitely harder, and if you let it flood the floor... I have no idea if it can be beaten no damage/armorless, at least not without a lot of luck. I'll try, though.

When you are quite immobile so the workaround is make him have glass damage. Gravity beetbood probably

@marx4538 i mean yeah. Which probably for some player feels difficult. Because some of the enemy like tunnel rhino one have some sort of weapon that launch when it destroyed or one crab on crush clawfish that : You charge, he charged and oh boy glass damage.
Yeah, those enemies tend to be difficult for players not used to them quite a bit, I remember having alot of trouble with the charge ones before
@@marx4538 until you know how to deal with it. Also i think it's the only game where i think they wanted the player to collect armor which is huge difference but getting them can be hassle.

Great job! Minimalist runs in the Zero games are always interesting. I feel that they get overlooked because using Zero's plethora of options is generally more appealing. I think you handled the last platforming section just fine. To me, it looks like you did it about as well as you could without the assistance of Double Jump.
Thank you! I find them interesting as well, though it's partially because I am also just more used to playing this way even with Zero games. I see, I don't know much about how that section is handled minimalist, so I might have had Double Jump usage in mind when thinking about how else it could be handled.

With how rushed the game. Gate is basically have some unexplained territory. The invulernable armor gimmick probably like a last minute change but this boss as i said earlier has i-frame coded differently

I am genuinely starting to like X's saber a lot because of it's many usages (including wall knockback cancelling), but it is funny how much more powerful Zero is with his three-slash combo alone
