Say Funk "I'm So Into It"
Просмотров 159Год назад
Together with Vancouver musician/producer Adam Shafron, we went into the studio Debbie Jones was working at, and produced our own sample-happy mid-tempo floor filler. Inspired by the likes of Bomb The Bass and Coldcut, this cheese-filled ditty never got released back in 1991 when we made it, but today gets un-earthed from the archives.
White Orpheus

This is a ground-breaking independent "art film/music video" created, produced, filmed and edited by Ivo Zanatta and Robert Shea in Vancouver in 1984. It involved the talents of many many people, and was done without support from any government agency or arts organization. The story is loosely based on the Black Orpheus film. Little is known about this. Audience participation, miming, Dadaesque influences, warehouse spaces, not much else is known.

26:20 Crazy to have a window and see 25 years in the past. Life was good.
was an amazing experience this tour!
still one of the greatest techno tracks of all time. the first time i heard/saw this track live, it totally broke my head. all hail the london barn party! HAHA
it caused a revolution! and that it came to be is somewhat of a miracle, as Mark Gage can attest to
Ahhh-maaaaazing 2nd and pine✌❤
Wow 30 years ago. Was a killer party
it was a great community building event, brought together techno and house deejays, plus those that had recently moved to Vancouver from Toronto instantly became part of the scene.
the Doc and G parties were the best. Glad to be a part of it.@@robertsheamusic also RIP Philth. You guys played amazing sets from what I can remember.
Finally the real stuff. 🤩So many faces I have not seen in 30 years.
Tyler sent me this, what a blast from the past!
choice!
Nice!! Thx!
yer welcome
Allez-y!
Aww, hearing his voice 🙏❤️ & the little Phil giggle ❤️❤️
it was a memorable experience, because Phil said "let's drive to San Fran and see this concert", I ended up moving to SF to work in music distribution and then to LA to work for Harthouse, and then I got to release Off and Gone Everest! incredible journeys :)
@@robertsheamusic "how long?" "oh it's only 25 minutes or so" (cue Phil giggle) Love this. I listened to it a while back but it's so good to revisit it.
wild! reminds me of those crazy times... so spunky!
My wife was there, will be scanning the crowd to find her. Found her! Can't believe it, she was so young. And we still go dancing when a rare good show comes to town.
Thanks for this ♥. I went to Graceland for the first time in December 1990, blew my mind, danced for 4 hours straight and never listened to rock music again!
that was a very special era for sure
@@robertsheamusic 💜
I used to go there and dance my ass off. That was the coolest place. It was so, so cool.

Why have I not seen this before? The Vapourspace album “Themes From Vapourspace” and especially the track “Spacewalk” was never out of my record box for about 10 years straight from 1994 onwards! Our punters loved that tune.
Cool, these guys one iof my fav bands of that era... Thanks
you are welcome, it was way more fun than I expected to do that tour with them
Outstanding ! Amazing Track ! Thanks.
🔥🔥🚀🚀
❤🎶❤ Les vidéos avec Boba sont si rares 👍 👏👏👏 !!! MERCI infiniment pour ce partage 🙏🙏🙏
Music was so good back then!
Wow so incredible! Miss those days. I graduated from high school in 1990 and would sneak in to Graceland whenever I could (when they weren’t checking Id). Then in the mid 90s I lived in the corner of Homer/Drake and I’d hear the bass from Graceland til 2am, when I’d hear the drunken screams of people exiting the club lol. Was one of my favourite clubs
<3 missed forever.
absolutely...
I know this fucker
Can anyone name the song playing at 14:57 ? It's killing me trying to remember it.
it might be a Fierce Ruling Diva track...
It sounds like an 808 state remix of cubic?
damn i miss Phil's enthusiasm!
<3
Phil is so vastly underrated. I've been a fan of his music since the 90's, and own quite a few of his tangible releases and collab projects. I was really grateful to be gifted his entire bandcamp catalog by a dear friend of his, after he sadly passed away. I can't believe it's almost 3 years now since he died. I still find it mind-blowing just how underappreciated and unknown he/his music was, considering the Master Maestro Music Manipulator Phil was. Albeit a Hidden Gem of aural pleasure for all those blessed to discover him.. Truly a Sonic Genius! Rest in peace Phil 🙏
totally totally agree with this. Was honoured to release Phil's solo debut The Escapist on Map Music in 1998, and was ongoingly amazed at the deepness and emotional quality of his music. Have you heard both Off and Gone albums he did with Dan Handrabur? gorgeous stuff... available on the Map Music bandcamp page.
@@robertsheamusicSweet, that is an honor! The Escapist and Off & Gone's Everest were among the first CD's of his I bought about 25 years ago. I'll have to check out the other one, thanks! Floatpoint with Dan is also amazing stuff!

@@robertsheamusic Ooh NICE !
Wish Phil was still around. No one else's music has so instantly and deeply affected my mind as his.
me too.
