El Camino Real - San Juan Bautista to Monterey
Просмотров 3764 года назад
In my trek last summer on El Camino Real, one stage eluded me due to bike problems - San Juan Bautista to Monterey. I went back to California to make it up and was overwhelmed with the beauty of mountain, valley and ocean. I fell in love with this little piece of music, which reminded me of a difficult time I went through last year. The words are too bleak for where I’m at today, but the music ...

Aventon Level E-bike review at 1000 miles - Would I buy it again?
Просмотров 56 тыс.4 года назад
This summer I put my Aventon Level on a big test - a 900 mile trip down the California Coast, fully loaded. I discovered some of the bike’s limitations, primarily due to the weight of the cargo I was carrying - my clothes, camping and photographic gear. There were some bonuses I discovered, as well. Limitations: Most of these are considerations for carrying cargo, rather than issues the normal ...

California Mission Walk Day 9 and Self-Interview
QUESTION. When your motor overheated, what level did you have it set at? You mentioned that you could ride at Level 1 which gave you more miles before the battery died.
Good job thanks
Extraordinary documentary. Good work. Thanks desde España. Very interesting the analogy with The Camino de Santiago in Spain. Never I have thought about it. Extraordinario documental. Buen trabajo. Gracias from Spain. Muy interesante la analogía con el Camino de Santiago en España. Nunca lo había pensado. By the way, as a Spaniard who loves and admire USA: Bernardo de Gálvez! and USA independence.
❤
Never knew that they offered a handlebar extention, ty
Buon Giorno peligrini. I was just hikking from Florence to Assisi and from Assisi to Rome. It's an wonderful camino for peligrini. 🙏
Wow! You opened my eyes! I’ve walked many Spanish Caminos but never the Italian ones. I’m definitely going to try one soon. What sort of accommodation is available - hostels or hotels? And what is the average cost for one day’s walking - food and bedding only? Look forward to hearing from you. Tim
I really needed this. Thanks.
Wow! Thank you so much for this.
Fantastisc video Sandy Thanks. God memories for me I have gone several of them I will tell about this video in Oslo pilegrimssenter and Community of santiagopilgrims in Norway. pilegrim no
Fantastic, thank you for this.
I've just ordered volume 1 of your books. I recently walked from Canterbury to Dover which was wonderful (we had walked the whole of the North Downs way) and south of Canterbury the walk becomes La Francigena. Only frustrating part was once we arrived in Dover the signposts seemed to disapear so we didnt know where the officel path was through the town (asked locals but didnt know) Maybe your book will help next time!
@SandyBrown thank you again for the info on the rear light and reflector mount. I just got the bike yesterday, dry fitted it, and your mount was very precise - it fit like a glove. :)
Thank you for the pvc rear light mount diy idea and instructions. Just built it and I just bought the level commuter, and is to be delivered by 12/11/2023.
Thanks for the review!!! :) I was eyeing the Ride1Up 700, but saw a used (ridden only twice) Aventon Level that would save a LOT of money over the Ride1Up. I think after watching a few reviews I can safely choose the Aventon bike
I put a comment in a short time ago and noticed it isn’t there any more, everyone else’s is still there, reply
Is most of this trek on the main road?
ISBN NO?
An amazing story and would make a good doc film. Maybe would’ve helped if thd interview questions were mapped out ahead to make best use of the time. More info about her actual story as in the book and daily struggle on trail would be good vs so much history of the trail and others who walked it. She’s a strong energy and maybe needs strong interviewers to help keep her on track to get more of her story out.
Ah man can you make one of those pvc pipes for me idk how to do it lol
We use them. Excellent.
Very well done!
Thanks for the instructions for the rear taillight assembly. I purchased the parts, and added it to my Aventon Pace 350. Awesome ❤
The Abbots Way is also worth a look at.
What a lovely trip. We live in Carpinteria and bike a lot north and south. Great to see the video - a reminder of the most beautiful place we live in.
Nicely done. Love your pvc customization. Looks good.
Please add CC, thanks!
Sandy, I think your hanger for the lights on the back of the bike is awesome. However, I just bought a Level 2, the rack is different, and your design does not fit. I am working on a hanger that does work and when Finish I will post what I have done. Regardless, keep up the good ides.
Thank you from Assisi Hospitale Laudato Si 😊
♥
Sandy what's your hight sit. I'm 5'5". They are suggesting small? I'm thinking medium. If I find it too big just change out stem/goose neck.
*Great quality amazing **Latest.Bike** , back brakes needed adjusting. Assembly a little complicated and instructions a little unclear but overall I give the bike 5/5 stars*
…which Cammini would be suitable to cycle-I wonder? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly. Stay safe ;^o
Awesome review. Thank you 😊
Can't wait to get mine. Ordered one this morning.
Pretty cool rear tail light rack
thanks for sharing your experiences; i'm curious how you decided between a hub and mid motor configuration?
It's the gale beticher song from breaking bad!
Thank you Sir. This video is really helpful
Just ordered the Level 350 for wife so she can accompany me on my rides. Maybe I can draft her too. Anyway, regarding the wobble, which probably happened while pedaling. Looks like you overstuffed the panniers. Also probably didn’t balance the load, which is minor but adds to the effect. Get a set for the front to take some weight off the back. Normal pedaling no matter how smooth causes a weight shift which is amplified by any load.
😄😊😀 oh gosh u made this thing like your car what a great job u did :D
It is a very attractive ebike. Now the big question is ebike or electric scooter. lol. Obviously, I don't plan on using it for a 900 mile trek, but just around the city and sometimes on bike trails. That's it. The decisions....
Cool setup 👍- sub left - I gotta accessories mine after it arrives - if course I'll ride around a bit to see what I might need - I like that handle bar extension.... Thanks 👍
My aventon came with three things broke. . The throttle, the front brakes, and the lock out fork..its all noted by a bike shop. Aventon is not even trying to help and the delay in the motor coming on gets on my nerves.
Thank you, very inspiring! Starting on VF in August
This was so helpful! I am interested in all things ITALY. More about those 40 Italian Pilgrimages would be wonderful! Thank you!
Excellent preview. So thoughtfully prepared and explained. Thank you!
I bought a Level earlier this week. I never did any real research on any brand or the whole ebike thing. I think I got lucky at a local bike store. The support was good and now with about 100 miles I have nothing to complain about. I put a plastic storage crate on the rack and mounted it with stout zip ties. It’s going to be my way to the grocery and stores I frequent from now on. I save wear and tear on the short ride car trips, and can bring 55 lbs along for the ride. Bike has excellent hydraulic brakes, and limits at 20 mph which may not sound impressive, but it really is all I want or need. One essential add on for me was a left side mirror mount on the end of the handle bar. You absolutely need those when going from a bike lane over to a left turn lane. Even though I can get my leg over the bar, I’m glad I got the pass through model, it’s just easier. I paid the retail 1799.00. Since the geometry of the ebike is different than a standard bike, I was glad for the support I was able to get from the dealer, mainly the mirror and the stem I needed on the handlebar to make the ride more comfortable. I think it’ll going to give me many years and miles of service.
I learned so much! Mille Grazie, Padre!
Take small zip ties and tie the spokes together where they intersect this will strengthen the wheel. Old BMX trick! 🤠
