    Robins are very beautiful little birds, especially Australian Robins. In Australia we don't have the species you are showing in your video, but we have plenty of Australian Robins. They are significantly smaller than the American Robins and even the European species. They come in all colours even candy pink! But those are fairly rare and we don't get them where we live. But we do get lots of Scarlet and Red-capped Robins. It is always a pleasure to watch them foraging in the bushes around our house👍

      @@NatureCanvassing I would say the comment is a bit harsh, but mostly true. The video would be good if the facts were correct. Most people don't appreciate the amount of work which goes into making a video. They can be at least kind. It can be confusing with birds. The same with our Australian Robins. They are actually not the same species as the European Robins. And the American Robins are a completely different species again. The European settlers just gave the same name to birds which looked similar to what they were used to in Europe. Anyway, I am giving the video a like, and I'll even subscribe. If you want to make another video on Australian Magpies, Ravens or Robins in the future, you can leave it unlisted, but put it in one of your public playlists and let us know via a comment on one of our videos. That way we will be able to see it on the public playlist and review it and fact check it for you. No one else is likely to see it. We could even let you use some of our footage to make your video, if you want. All free of charge of course😊

      @@NatureCanvassing On the audio, the call at 1:18 and repeated later is the Australian Magpie. The call of the Eurasian magpie (Pica pica) can be heard here - ruclips.net/video/y4pbkXIQyyg/видео.htmlsi=Nk49rzpaSRSiytG_ Magpies have quite a vocabulary but that's the main call. The American magpie (Pica hudsonia) is very similar and was only classed as a separate species in 2000. There's also the yellow-billed magpie in California (Pica nuttalli) which is a bit smaller. I'm from the UK, but I traveled across the States by train in the 1980s and didn't know about the yellow-bills until I saw them from the window and was surprised! I bought Western Birds as soon as I got off the train. Best wishes to you.

      @NatureCanvassing 4 месяца назад

    • @eblackadder3
      @eblackadder3 4 месяца назад

      @@NatureCanvassing The easiest way to tell is the King Penguin has a long, straighter bill and orange mandible and a bright orange cheek patch and upper chest. The Emperor has a shorter, slightly hooked bill with a pinkish or light purple colored mandible and a pale orange-yellow cheek patch. The King has larger flippers and the body is thinner compared to the more stout Emperor.

    House sparrows/English sparrows have earned a reputation for aggressively attacking nesting bluebirds (and other species), killing adults and young. They will even build their nest on top of the birds they kill. Their aggressiveness and persistence make them a serious problem. "Fun fact!"
