Lexus LX470 AHC Override
Просмотров 30 тыс.4 года назад
How to install a switch to manually override the LX470 AHC system. (Active height control) Below is a link to the switch I used from Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B07MV52SRM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
When the camera turned to the DeWalt on the ground they swapped the car behind the scenes
I wrote a comment about this hack how cool this is, but then I went and did a deep dive about this hack. with all 100% confidence I will tell you DO NOT DO THIS to your car. This AHC system is responsible for car stability, by doing this you disabling stability system.
How you locked the hub from rotating? Is someone pressing the brake?
Thank you sooo much bro❤️
Nice video. I preparing to overhaul my sx-780 from top to bottom. So helpful to get tips from others doing the same.
ha relay that simple , slee was putting some type of a black box with cables to achieve this result , anyway when I do low car drops all the way to the bare metal sits on the bushing support 0 suspension
Did you have to go back and set your dc off and bias after installation?
Hello I am wondering what are the benefits of driving on the high position over 20 miles per hour ! It improved your mileage ? Driving at high position for a longer period would make your accumulators worn faster !
No benefit, it just gives you the option
Great video!
And if i want to low ..always lo..please help
Na man u gotta get the harbor freight I mean the horrible break one lmao
Thanks for your help!!!
Are you noticing better gas mileage when you ride in low?
I didn't really drive that much in low, just some short highway stretches.
Ok just playing devils advocate here, but not a fair comparison. 1200 ft-lbs of max breakaway torque vs a 60lb kid 😳😂🤣😂🤣 I’m kidding,,,,,, 80lbs 😂🤘🏽👍🏽
You tried but failed..
Thank you so Much!!! I put 21” wheels on my LX470. I need it to be on Low setting for everyday driving so it doesn’t look too lifted. But when I go off roading and I put the 18” off road wheels and tires on… I need it to stay in high!!! This is the perfect solution!!!
Appreciate this video, own 1 of these for about 21/2 years now and I know this will happen to me in Time. My opinion, cool white LED lighting is best way to go for this unit.
Just did the mod as described, no worries, it works. But what I also found is that it affects the comfort/sport settings, it doesn't work anymore, it's the same when on the hard or soft setting. Does not change anymore. Other than that it's fine. Do you find the same thing?
I don't think I ever played with the dampening while in high and when in normal height I always turned the bypass off. I have since converted to OME/OEM land cruiser suspension.
@@tomaszzyzdorf9862 thanks for you reply. Okay just thought you might have come across it. I just got the vehicle and the mechanic that owned it rebuild the AHC before selling and put LC springs in the rear, a bit better for heavier loads, so no need to change it ...yet!? Works like a charm so far.
Just did this as best as possible to the directions. I have a 2003 so the harness was a bit different. I spliced and connected as reviewed. This isn’t working for me so far. Does the new switch have to be connected in a specific order? My wires were red as yours but green for 17. If I reverse the harness, there is nothing in slot 4.
@@glopod8736 sorry mate can't help you, I have a "98 model.
To think, it wasn’t even king of the hill like the new DeWALT DCF900 that replaces it.
Right!? I don’t think I’ll be needing it anytime soon, I can’t see me needing to exceed the DCF 899’s power! 💪🏼
@@zjedinite After breaking the two impact tools I had in early January, I ended up with both a DCF899 (purchased broken then repaired) and a Craftsman CMCF940 (rebadged DCF899). Both are beasts!
@@emmettturner9452 I’m a DeWalt “fan boy” due to ALL THE BATTERIES I have gathered throughout the years, that getting anything else then your battery line doesn’t make sense, FOR ME. It’s the batteries that we are married to imho. Well regarding other brands, I hear that the Hercules one at Harbor freight is NO JOKE! And affordable as well. Those battery adapter seems to be an option in the future 🤔
@@zjedinite Exactly. When I repaired the DCF899 I actually bought a replacement 899 housing and direction control switch in case I needed to rehouse the CMCF940 to accept my DeWALT batteries… for a Frankenstein monster much like Torque Test Channel showed in their 940 review. Turned out the used 940 came with an upgraded 6AH battery (normally sold with 4AH) so I’m going to pass it off to a friend and keep the spare 899 housing. I briefly considered building another DeWALT pack out of the cells and rehousing it anyway but I would’ve had to tear up a perfectly good DeWALT charger to get the right terminals and I didn’t need essentially TWO 899s. :)
Thanks. Just finished doing the same modifications. Was a little tight, but it works. Gonna be very helpful when trying to keep the truck low for people and the kids to get in and out !!!
Can you provide me with the source for those custom STK-0050 modules. Dealing with same issue. I was wondering in F4 was a slow blow type mains fuse. Its not uncommon for the mains fuse to primary to be slow blow type. Packs removed no blow. Checked pins on both packs, one appears directly shorted, other one not. Replaced both with packs with new from ebay. Still blows. I understand most of these so called aftermarket modules are junk. Was going to test both new and see if one is shorted, if only one tests bad I will pair it with the one original that tested as un shorted with resistance test. If both of my new aftermarket STK packs are bad, I would like to buy those custom modules you installed. Source please, thanks my friend. 😎👍
The main fuse on my 780 would blow as soon as I flipped the power switch on. I added a link for the power packs in the description. Good luck
@@tomaszzyzdorf9862 thanks, yes same fuse here. The 4amp tied to the input of primary winding of power transformers. Unit does not blow fuse with the one channels new STK pack removed, will install the one un shorted original I have and cross my fingers. Thanks for the link. Have a great week. 😎👍
That's was the definition of badass kickass. And you fellas rock for showing the world.
Good enough for most jobs.
Nice
If I understand correctly, the switch is to turn the override on and off. If I were to just want the override to be always on, so I could manually set my height at will, could I just cut the two cables?
Yeah I guess cutting the wires would get you that
That's a beast 👹👹
Lo logré, thank you! ♥️
Hola quiero hacerlo también pero no entiendo como hacer con la tecla
In the video I keep saying "microphone cable" it's not. I believe it's the cabin temp sensor. Whatever
I believe you are correct Thomas. I think the white ½ tube behind it actually breaths cabin air and is used to regulate temps. If left disconnected my understanding is that you'll lose climate control. It'll blow all hot or all cold. (Based on my readings of other's experience. I haven't forgotten to reconnect my tube. Yet...)
Good job, and thanks for sharing your research.
Great video! Have you had any issues with it since done?
It's been over a year with no issues
@@tomaszzyzdorf9862 I did it and works like a charm. Thanks again.
Thanks for your help!!!
Does this work on all years LX470? Mine is a 2000, looks like a little older than yours
If the wire colors match go for it
Thank you for taking everything back apart to show us how you did it. Plus the research time. Truly appreciated. 👍🏼
Unbelievable, doing this tomorrow
Great video. Is there any issue with driving it at full height at highway speeds?
Your CV angles will be steep and you can get excess wear or failure of your CV joints. A differential drop can cure the angle.
Lol I don't drive in high at highway speeds but I do enjoy flexing high around town
You’re gooood maaan
That is a great video! Rarely do I find a video that makes me feel like I know how to do the job as soon as the video ends. Well done.
Excellent video. Have you tried driving on a smooth highway at speed in the low setting? Be curious to find out how that was. How much suspension travel is left on the low setting, at 2 inches lower than normal?
Thanks alot brother all the way from the middle east. I got my mechanic to do this and it worked 💪 😀
I have driven in the highway in low, it drove just fine. Just watch out for pot holes!
Great video! Thanks for making this!!
Great information thanks
