Overwintering Banana Plants for a UK winter, this footage was shot almost ten years ago in the tropical and exotic Garden of the late Will Giles, legend in the exotic gardening world!
Here you can see multiple stems, and multiple stacks wrapped with fleece and packed with dry straw, and capped the top with plastic to keep the rain off.

How long do I soak the seeds ? Feom February to March?
Hi, I usually have them in water a couple of weeks, tbh I have found it makes very little difference and I often forget and they stay in way longer!
@@tropicalplantguy ah thank you! My canna flower bloomed and had those seeds so I was curious to see if I could grow one myself and replant them.
@@belovedone3220 You'll have no problem. They just need a bit of warmth to get them started, ideally a little heat tray or warming thing. You'll get really good results if you do. Don't rush getting them started though, as they will need lights if you do it before the days get a bit longer! They much prefer a warmer start.

Mr. Giles, What zone are you please? Enjoyed your garden, I am still planting my Tropical Garden 2nd year now. I am in Florida zone 9.
will sadly passed away, but he lived in Norwich Norfolk UK if thats any help, we get mainly frosts down to -5 c but that winter we had -15 C. Will was a good friend of mine

Hi will I really enjoyed visiting you're garden on July 13th last year , it gave me lots of ideas to bring back to my Cheshire garden. My partner fred felt rather left out as I disused plants with you. my transplanted hostas are all limp and going yellow...what have I done wrong?
