    I enjoyed the conversation between Seb and Max. Talking about some of the great competitions that could have taken place between this great lifter and that one if only the stars had aligned- Aramanau and Illyin did meet once as juniors at 2006 Jr worlds at 94 kg, Illya’s 1st year and Andre’s last year at that weight. Ilya won 176-225 to 177-216. Speaking of Aramnau , a lot of lifters careers were hurt badly by Covid-19 but none more than Andre. He was 2nd at 2019 worlds with 426 total, Wr snatch (for about a minute). He showed up at 2021 Europeans as a super, 10-12 kg heavier and totaled 375. Belorussia only had 1 men’s entry and they used Tsikhantsou at 96. It’s true Andre was 33 that year but Liu was 4 years older and won gold at 81. Would’ve liked to have seen Andre go out with a bang instead of a fizzle. He was Great.

    I think you guys have brought a great service to the sport by allowing more exposure to the athletes and competition. I have been a weighlifting fan for 30 years but unless it was a Commonwealth Games or an Olympics it was rare to get access to meet. Added to this your commentary demonstrates great rapport between you, your not talking over each other, poised, its complimetary, insightful, and enjoyable. Keep up the great work!

    great interview with far too few views! it's really amazing to hear her talk about the olympics bc it feels like a normal (extraordinarily athletic ofc) person got to experience that. you only tend to hear from olympians who have been training secluded since they were children and who seem to be a different species with lives unfathomable to the rest of us. her instagram content got me interested in weightlifting as well and your channel furthered that obsession. keep up the great work!

    I'm a bit confused on how feedback works for the program to adapt to you. Are real people looking and giving their feedback (with unintentional biases)? Is there a barbell tracker? How is the new person to know when a technique mistake happens?

    Very likeable character and a great interview but I think the part relating to Nat has been taken out of context. Whether we like it or not People make conscious decisions related to performance. Emily is a great athlete but she is fat, this is not up for debate. She consciously wants to be the weight she is based on performance. To suggest that Nat is discriminating against shw women is wrong. He even suggests that peoples perception of heavy weight men and women is unfair. He certainly didn’t single women out. I thought nats assessment was spot on and for seb to suggest that he should have said something was very odd to hear.

    • @alexlm161
      @alexlm161 2 года назад

      I think she isn't raising a debate about her weight - she's suggesting that the recognition of her acheivements being downplayed soley because of how people see her weight isn't fair. You're right - Nat does agree that it isn't fair - but instead of using his considerable platform to help change how people think about these classes, he continues to play into it. You can say that it isn't his responsibility and that he's allowed to put likes ahead of helping the sport, and while that is true I think it's still fair enough for Emily to be disappointed in his take. She's an incredibly hardworking and successful athlete, and I can certainly understand that her contributions to the sport being overlooked by one of the biggest creators in weightlifting media solely because of her weight might be disappointing.
