    Most of the movie was made in the fall of 1981- "Principal photography began on September 28, 1981, and lasted 77 days". Disney wasn't happy with the original cut. Edits were made where scenes were deleted and replaced with others. An example is the one with the spiders. In the original uncut version a large disembodied hand representing that of Mr. Dark's was going thru the window to snatch the boys but Disney thought it looked too fake. Thats when they replaced it with the spider scene they made in late 1982's were if you look closely the boys have grown some and look a little more mature. There were other changes as well. Ray Bradbury was the principle screen writer and Disney had him come back in 1982 to add an intro and to do the ending in the final version. The final edited movie was released in on April 29th, 1983 in the U.S. I think whoever did the casting did a great job as well. The actors picked are perfect for the parts they protray in the film. I love the movie and have it on DVD as well.

    I agree, a very underrated movie. I really liked it a lot. I loved the father - son relationship depicted in the movie between the son, Will Halloway (Vidal Peterson), and his elderly fragile father, Charles Halloway (Jason Robards). I thought it was very poignant and heart-tugging - Especially the scenes where Will & Jim are hiding from Mr. Dark and Will reaches thru the gutter screen to hold his father's hand, plus in the Hall of Mirrors where Charles smashes thru the mirror and reaches out to pull Will from the water - in the process atoning for his inability to pull a then four year old Will out of a dangerous current eight years prior at the Indigo River and instead having to watch someone else do it for him. Jonathan Pryce was also great as Mr. Dark, a truly evil mysterious man with magical powers. It shows Jonathan Pryce's versatility as an actor as a few year laters he played in the black comedy film Brazil and was great in it as well. Something Wicked this Way Comes is a really good movie in my humble opinion and I love watching it every October just before Halloween.

    Dude, awesome haul! Can’t wait to see you talk about all of this stuff! I’m super interested in what you’ll think of Last Shift and its remake (director made the movie twice-both versions are good, in my opinion lol). Loving all of these awesome vids you’ve put up, recently, and I hope you keep making them hahah. God bless! Also: I hate The Funhouse lol. Never utilizes the carnival enough, and I think it’s lame, overall. I think Dean Koontz did a novelization of it, if you didn’t know that. Very strange-can’t wait to hear you talk about it lol.

      The Funhouse isn’t enough carnival? NOOOOOOOO 😭 but i have a bunch of movies on playlist this year. I got Sideshow/The Fun Park/The Funhouse/Ghoulies II/The Howling VI/Something Wicked This Way Comes/Dark Ride/Killer Klowns From Outer Space so if I’m missing any let me know I’m trying to watch the big ones. Maybe I’ll add in Haunt as well and Halloween carnival movies like 31 or something. We will see! Thanks for watching Michael God Bless!

      @@HorrorFFA To me, it isn’t hahah. It’s been a while, maybe I’m remembering it wrong, but I remember most of it not showing carnival stuff, which pissed my mom and I off lol. The only carnival type of movie I think you’re missing is probably Hellfest. More of a Halloween movie than anything, but I like it a lot hahah. Had that kind of atmosphere. I’ve never seen Howling or Ghoulies movies, so I’ll have to check those out, too lol. There may be more movies I’m forgetting. Maybe some Scooby-doo films have some carnival stuff you could cover. Probably mostly in the modern films, which probably isn’t that good, but still lol.

    Duuuuuude, hell yes! One of my summertime favorites! I’m sorry you didn’t love it as much as I do, but, man, I could watch this movie over and over again lol. That Jim guy (the one with the fan) is so funny-the facial expressions are too good lol. He’s like a young, funny Ron Perlman, and I always wished the guy was in more slasher stuff. I love when he’s sobbing in the movie, after that scene you mentioned lol. Used to have my cousin and I in tears! Thanks for reviewing it, and God bless!

    Great review, man! I still maintain an absolute love for this movie lol. This was the return of Shyamalan, for me, and it was so cool to see him back and working so hard on something so fresh-plus, being a found footage fan, it made it even more neat, to me lol. The Visit was so wild! Keep up the great work and God bless!

    • @HorrorFFA
      @HorrorFFA 2 месяца назад

      I liked it as a shakeup for Shyamalan. It’s no Invincible/Split/Signs for me, but it’s up there with films from him I believe are pretty good. I think the two camera perspective was awesome in a found footage movie, especially for a cut footage type film in a mockumentary style. I don’t get why people out there didn’t like this movie but I enjoyed it well enough!

    Sorry to be so late on this one-been crazy busy with training, at work hahah. Anyways, I feel like I’ve heard this movie title before, but I’ve definitely never seen it. Kind of curious about it, now, even though you hated it (which means I’ll probably hate it, too lol). Awesome review, man! God bless! The background is looking more awesome, every time I see it on one of your vids!

    #1 Halloween 2 ('81) #2 Halloween ('78) #3 Season Of The Witch (The rest are a pandering cash-grab cinematic abortion)

      Only instead of '78 (like the first Godzilla, one of the most overrated films in the history of cinema, with a stupid plot, stupid staging of murders, a lame unconvincing killer, terrible acting by EVERYONE except Pleasance and a complete lack of tension, which people prefer to pretend that it is there) should be put Halloween Ends.

      @amilcarmusah4218 Well, the plot was great, but the execution was, meh. Killer was fantastic (not as good as Billy '74 though). It has it's faults BUT part 2 ('81) literally corrects ALL of them AND YET ('81) gets shit on by fans because of asshat Carpenter.

    Great vid, man! I think I need to take the time to go back and watch the theatrical cut, since I really enjoyed that version as a kid (just saw that unrated cut last year, for the first time).

      It hits nostalgia buttons (the theatrical cut), I remember in October when this movie and some other horror movie came on b2b on tv, I’d go up to room and watch them everytime.

      @@HorrorFFA I remember a friend of mine talking about it a lot, in school hahah. He actually had said it was his favorite horror movie, at the time lol.

    This wasn't exactly Hollywood Pictures first horror movie, there was also 6th Sense Never heard of this lol

      Yeah I looked into it and they did 6th Sense too. It’s weird that Disney tried to make legitimate horror films once upon a time. I just looked into it further - the final two Hollywood pictures were made after this and they were horror as well. The Invisible and Primeval 🤯

    Great video my man🔥 glad to see similarities in our favorites, but it was expected since we always talk about them lol. You picked some subgenres like Halloween stories that although didn't make it on my list, is an amazing pick with a lotta great stuff in it. God bless man and you room setup lookin awesome💯
