Here is how we are seeding our winter pasture for the homestead

It's fall! The bermuda is going dormant and we need feed for our cows! This year we are not using annual rye like we have previously. Instead, we are using the pasture forage blend we tried last year. And I have a primitive way of seeding several acres!
Do homesteaders need a lobbyist in Washington?
Просмотров 2062 года назад
There are a lot of laws and regulations on the books that prohibit the production or sale of various agricultural products from small producers. Often, people have found a way around this. However, maybe it is time for us to band together and make our voices heard in our nation's capital. Our elected officials are not acting in our best interests, but rather are enabling and protecting the corp...

Hey- We're planning on expanding our poultry, right now we only have chickens, pigeons and ducks but we are getting more guineafowl and considering turkeys, and from what I'm getting, they seem to be very wander - y birds. Our property is 4 acres big, fences are good enough to keep the horses and cows in, chickens stay near the coop and the guineas/ducks stick with the chickens and we genuinely don't care or take note of where the pigeons go, so we don't bother too much on security. But we are worried turkeys might get into the neighboring construction, road, etc, really it wouldnt be pretty if one got out. We have one enormous coop that could qualify as a master bedroom, and outdoor trees that the pigeons will roost in warmer months. So shelter is not a concern. Is there any measures we should go to as to keep the turkeys contained?
We do not know how to contain turkeys. I'm sure you can clip a wing, but that means catching them every month or two. I think the best method is to feed mealworms on a regular basis. They will show up for them for sure
“Snowflakes” big babies is what they are
NO BRO, you cant do such things on youtube bro !!!
Alsom video his skills are absolutely amazing,I've skinned lot of hogs never a cow.
This guy is a gem. Old time slaughterman with a ton of knowledge .
Your butcher was great and nice you were able to give the parts away that you don’t use to help feed others.
I want to get into beef farming for my own family
it’s nice to watch his art work
How can i get this breed of turkey
Amazing colours 🤩🤩 I have only black
You are a hipster, playing farm life. I am a 4 th generation farmer and you can eat all of that, the intestines and the stomach, head, tongue, kidneys etc. To the butcher; Sir, you have my outmost respect, we butcher the same way you do it for decades. You are a humble and calm person. When butchering you need to be calm and not hurry things because you can cut yourself, cut the meat wrong or cut somebody else helping you. I've watched several videos on youtube on this topic and this man here by far is the best. Btw, the stomach takes time to clean so the intestines but they taste better than some of the meat.
This video is great! I used it to install an InSinkErator disposal. The steps were easy to follow and your explanations are clear. You also give them to the viewer in the right order. Thanks for making this!
You make living off the land look so rewarding
He made it hard for himself
Just water and salt on internal organs cook until tender and enjoy.
How many kilos is that turkey?
Would you suggest clipping their wings? We have coyotes that are ballsey enough to go up to our house. We wouldnt want them flying over the fence however we do want them to roost.

Nice job you doing
👌
What gauge of pipe do you use? It looks very sturdy but thin-walled. Is it galvanized conduit or something heavier than conduit?
Awesome
I lived raising my turkeys. They were pretty tame and comical. They would serenade me in the morning, they were just a great homestead bird. I had huge fig trees in Oregon at that time, I would shake the limbs and the turkeys gobbled them up. I don’t like the dark figs, so the turkeys got all of them and shortly after the turkeys went into the canners. I’m hatching some turkey eggs I bought online, they are a special breed I was interested in. Blessings
I have had mine for 4 years mounted to a stand , installed a on /off switch cuts 1/4 inch steel , no problem, I use lennox blades or hercules blades. Mine is stationary so in this mode its a great saw , but your review may justify the findings for someone using this saw otherwise .
No updates, what's going on with you guys?
any losses due to owls since they roost on the roofs?
Great video -link to misters and connections? Thanks
Great video. Thanks to you both!

Thats 0.26 of table spoon per 1lb of weight? That sounds too little no? Usually its 0.6 of table spoon per 1lb
