I love❤ the Sabbath. And what it presents.. The love of God in Jesus Christ.🌹
Why is he dressed like that in God's presence? We should come before God with our best attire Would he go on a job interview dressed like that? Or to a wedding, or in a court standing before a judge? Give God your best, not just a casual attitude.
Hello Elaine, thank you for being willing to share your concerns. Just as a disclaimer up front, it's very difficult to convey intent and inflection via a message like this, so if it would be helpful, we'd be happy to talk about this. I'll give you three pieces of food for thought, if your open to them: 1- How do we define our "best"? Is it by the style of clothing? The amount of money that you spend? Or some other measuring stick? I think you will find that this is a cultural norm that has shifted here in the US over time. It also varies by culture around the world. Would you be asking the same question of a Pastor from Hawaii wearing a more relaxed style of apparel? 2- What examples do we see of this in the Bible? To be sure, in old testament times there was a dress code for the priests that ministered in the temple. Did Jesus have a dress code that he adhered to when he ministered and preached the gospel? I think it would be easier to argue that he did not. What about the apostles? 3- What does God's word say we should be looking to when we judge a message? I don't see anything in His word that says, "you will know them by the way they dress". Rather, you will know them by their fruit. While I will not argue about the level of skillful speech, I would suggest that we look at the content of the message at hand. Is there good fruit that comes from what we are hearing? Finally, I will end by saying that at Oak Stone we do have a dress code for anyone that appears on stage. We do realize that it might not be everyone's style or level of comfort. But the Bible tells us that the Lord is much more concerned with the content of our hearts than he is the outside appearance. I pray the Lord bless you as you seek to follow Him!

That was an excellent sermon Brother Adam, I agree with you on 99% of what you said, and I agree with you that very much error and pagan beliefs have crept in to modern Christianity; It's in all believers' best interest to come to know what those errors and false pagan beliefs are, so that we can avoid them. (2Tim.2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.(John 4:23,24) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
