I actually had sex inside that blimp as a teenager. My girlfriend had access to the airfield and it wasn’t that well guarded. We snuck in the blimp’s cabin as a goof and then decided on a dare if we could “do it”! Spoiler alert, we did!
I remember seeing this flying over my neighborhood in Pinellas Park Fl circa 1993. All the videos reccomending the Shark Week blimp to me made me remember this.

It’s so weird how little information there’s available about this, I only know it existed because a kids show here in the Netherlands called Bassie & Adriaan did a series back in 1992 about a tour through the US and one episode they actually flew in the Shuma blimp. I was wondering if it still existed but it’s weird how there’s hardly any information about the thing at all.

I wonder what happened to this old blimp skins.
Just after it was decommissioned, it was stored in a hangar at an airfield in Lakehurst, NJ. I’m not sure where it is now. I included some other info about the Shamu Blimp in a short article I wrote here: iaaphx.com/articles/seaworld-shamu-blimp-landing
This airship was sent to Argentina in 1995 and flew until November 1996 advertising the company La Serenisima. His license plate here was N 601 LP. He suffered a fatal accident in the wake of a storm.
