That's alot of risk, hassle, waiting and wasted fees/shipping to make a few bucks. The only clear winner is PSA. You did all the work for them.

I used to only buy graded cards but now im starting to buy some raw cards. Grading seems a little shady to me and it seems like the real winners are the grading companies. I can understand why people would grade or buy vintage or high dollar cards, but i don't understand why people would buy low end junk wax or modern base. Why do theose cards need to be authenticated? People can't tell the condition of the card so they need an inconsistent expert to tell them? Or is it to authenticate the card, because there are so many counterfeit 1990 Donruss Tom Glavine rookie cards? Its bizarre to me that people are spending more to grade a card than the card is worth raw. Instead of buying some of thesec10s, they could buy some nice cards with the money they save

I recently opened two 89 Upper Deck sets. One Griffey was off center with a dinged corner. Other one was perfect except has blue ink that rubbed off from box on it. 😢

Good strategy. I have tons of cards from the 80’s and 90’s. When my son and I opened them, I took all star cards and penny sleeved and top loaded them divided by star name. I sent some in to PSA during their special several months back and was a little disappointed by the grades. Most 8’s and 9’s with one 10, a Randy Johnson ‘89 fleer. I noticed SGC grades from back then are about the same as PSA. from listening to others I’m finding out PSA hates junk wax and grades them very hard in order to control the pop count. My understanding is that SGC grades the centering hard but is honest on the rest and isn’t worried about too many cards graded a 10. I’m going to send some into SGC to see if this holds true. really new to the business. somehow found ur videos. I really appreciate the help. I use to collect as a kid, bought some cards in 2006, then again in 2018 on comc i checked it recently. Turns out my bets on lucka being amazing paid off. so I started an ebay sellers account. Ive only made 120 bucks 70 real profit. Im gonna subscribe to this channel.

good vid, interesting strategy, look forward seeing how you make out flipping those slabs now. gonna do ebay, instagram, FB or a local show to sell them? you have another set you are targeting to try this with? warning: 2001 topps factory sets with ichiro and pujols brick together in clumps, you have to peel the cards apart and there is paper loss in alot of sets I have seen opened. i think there are plenty of other late 90s and 00s sets that do that. fyi/fwiw
