Whats the best way to enter? Peakaboo style. Peak in and access before crossing the barrier?
I don’t exactly know, but in my opinion I would create more distance so the barrel wouldn’t be exposed as I swing around into the room. This will allow you to not only disengage if need be but also have more time to react, due to the space created.
If you peek, you better hope the wall you are peeking from is high quality concrete or else it will be the last thing you do.

@@benjamintran1126 Well, for one, you do not clear rooms alone. You have two man teams. So what would have happened to the lone guy that was wrestling is that he would be "locked down" (grap and hold in a manner that prevent the attacker from doing much or grab a knife etc) by the one he was attacking. Meaning the second man coming in behind would just shoot or stab him sideways (sideways to avoid the bayonet becoming stuck between the rips). One reason to stab even if you have a gun is that you dont want the bullet to go through the enemy and hit your friend. At which point team 2 behind him again would push past and clear the room. I have actually not seen in movies or similar the way we room cleared. Had G3 weapons with foldable stocks. We would basically hip fire while we used the left thumb as a "forward pointer" on the front grip to "aim". Your targets are only like 3 meters away anyway. If longer you would raise your weapon. So we did have the stocks unfolded regardless. If we had grenades we would use those first. One time however I only had a MG3 during training (we were the last ones left). That time I just tilted the whole thing and fired 50+ round into the room shooting sideways. Granted with blanks to the recoil isnt realistic. You level the gun with the opening. You are trained not to "stick" your gun into the room because this can happen and you are easier to spot (for example a sniper in a window). Lastly, you dont clear rooms alone, like a mentioned before. There will be people outside as well. If this is an apartment like building and you get indications that there is enemy combatants in a given room. People from the outside might fire a 40mm into it or support fire from a 20, 30 or 40mm IFV auto cannon will do the job. That or if it is a wooden house you might a LMG rip through the "feet area" of the wall form the outside etc.

I was a PJ in Vietnam.Let me tell you straight out today' pararescue is light years ahead of me in all respects!!! We thought we trained hard--the guys today are miracle workers--no doubt we saved a lot of lives and limbs--today the world has evolved into nothing ahort of "that others may live"
