Euphonium in the time of COVID
Канада
Добавлен 23 мар 2021
This is a library of unaccompanied euphonium solos.
As a COVID sanity project, I began to buy as much unaccompanied solo euphonium music as I could find, record it, and post it on Facebook. Now I have over 100 recordings I realize that this has become a useful resource to teachers, students, and euphonium players who struggle to find recordings of this repertoire. I decided to continue the project on RUclips to make it more accessible.

III: Gigue - The Stanhope (4:09).
Sheet music available from meechanmusic.com/music/three-london-places/.
Three London Places is a short suite for unaccompanied trumpet. Each of the three movements has a subtitle dedicated to places in the British capital, although they are not the usual tourist attractions in London!
The work was originally written for Martin Britt, who managed to convince the composer to write this unaccompanied suite throughout an evening in London, by buying him a beer in the three different pubs they visited that night - The Mews, The Goat and The Stanhope!

Sheet music available from euphonium.com/products/aagard-nilsen-black-rain-svart-regn-bass-clef Composed for Egil Magnussen whom Torstein studied with for three years. In the piece he combines all ideas invented, using previous themes as counter parts to the new and the form of the piece evolves like a one part counter point. The title has to do with pollution. This was composed when the first ...

Love this so much! I remember when I first played this piece for my lessons my freshman year of college, there wasn’t any recordings at all of this. This is great. Went through your channel and am excited to go through your other pieces. Definitely subscribing to your channel
This is beautifully played. Bravo!
Beautiful thankyou

I played the Aubade many years ago. Music is in my loft somewhere. Can't remember who publishes this piece?? - Well played by the way.
hello again
I wrote that many years ago as a college senior. I was trying to demonstrate that the styles you write in are as important as the notes you choose, and that you can develop a standard texture regardless of the pitches. Imagine my surprise when it was included on a few lists for euphonium compositions! I realize that it is clumsy at times, but your playing is outstanding. It is supposed to be a short, wild ride on the stage, and you've done just that. I thought it would be fun to start it in the dark too, and have the lights come up slowly during the opening section. I remember a similar bassoon piece that I thought the euphonium could compete with. Try my "Concerto for Euphonium and Piano." My friend and I played it everywhere.
Thanks for the comments. Interesting thought with the lighting. I'll take a look at the Concerto.
good luck to everyone auditioning for guardians
Yuhhhhh
Thank you
And btw you killed the song it was so good

MUCHO BELO. GRACIOSO. .... QUAL MODELO MARCA DO SEU EUPHONIO. ...?
Besson Prestige 2052.
Hey! Im playing this for my solo and im kinda struggling on the low note high notes transition can you please give some tips! Thxx
Tough to say without hearing you play. Try the Arban exercises on mixed intervals as a starter.
That's a tough piece, if for no other reason than that it doesn't have Arbans type of difficulty - it's all in nuance and expression and endurance across range, and maintaining intonation over looong phrases. I like everything about what you're doing,.
So great!!!
Lmao
p̲r̲o̲m̲o̲s̲m̲ ?
It's always so much fun listening to piece your practicing. It's also fun to see how others preform/ interpret the music.

It's nice to see more people playing this piece!
Yaaayyyy
Thank you for this! Nice sound, Sir!
Ce n'est pas la badinerie...
Again, 1 pitch higher than the original.
Smart to transpose the whole piece one pitch higher to get rid of playing with the 3rd valve. From '20 dances for euph.' with mr S. Mead.
you're a life saver sir, playing this for a competition, i will listen to this many times. thank you so much
Best of luck!
I love this <3
