Shame you said the stuff about Brexit. We've never properly had Brexit, more Brino. By leaving EU we were able to keep the £ and not take the €. We would have lost ability for monetary & fiscal policy. Look at how Greece came to grief when stuck with a high €. The EU have taxation without representation (MEPs don't chose the tax rates or policies).

How would I know if the figure shown for VAT in the Opening Balance sheet is a debit or credit?

How does it work with long term assets, would they be money out to shareholders? Let's say a hotel owns furniture. That's an asset. It wouldn't be counted as liability towards non shareholders, so would that go towards capital/shareholders?

Hi Micheal, why did the trail balance move all the liabilities (non-shareholder) credits over to the left side?

Do banks lend out the money you deposit into a business current account?

dead&clic methos is good as far as you are too basic to understand what accounting actually is and basic transaction for t a/c your method is way better .

Asset = liabilities + capital because all of the debit on one side and credit on the other.

Hi Michael, something is not right here. AAT illustrated that the prompt payment discount comes off the net amount not the total amount like you said. ''Bulk and trade discount is on the net. prompt payment in on the gross''. Here is an example by aat. Net amount:1125.00 Add 20% VAT amount: 225.00 Gross (or total) amount: 1350.00 Net amount from the invoice: 1125.00 Multiply by prompt payment discount rate 2% Net amount of prompt payment discount: 1125.00 - 2% for prompt payment=1'102.50 Your answers is: gross of 1350.00 - prompt payment 2%=1323.00 AAT answer is: net of 1125.00- prompt payment of 2% =1'102.50 Has something changed recently?

Your equation was for 86000 units. 45000x86000÷800 000? I was doing OK till then, but it has really confused me. Are you able to help? Thanks in advance x

I'm really struggling to understand 4a. How is 90,000-12,000 x 7.5 coming to 0 in Excel? When I do this on a calculator I get 585,000. If the figure is consistently 7.5 wouldn't this be a Fixed cost?
