Bellinzona Station in about 1979 (cert prior to 1980)! Brief upload from my Euro collection of the time. Funny how I have this whole collection that I have not taken a great deal of interest in, but now..30 odd years on, is of significant interest. Have started to wade through the thousands of railway images collected over 40 years of railway photography. Another memorable one was finding a buch of 45's quietly being eaten by the undergrowth one Sunday afternoon in (I think) 1991 here at March. These were the days when you could gain access to most B.R. sites, or at least find a friendly foreman who would read you the riot act, then say.....

Another interesting Tuesday spent at Eastleigh. Star of show, 57310 on shunt duties due to lack of 08's according to 'them in the know' on platform. The underground stock caught me by surprise. Heat haze reduces definition considerably..apologies. Anyway, at least momements recorded for prosperity etc!

Eastleigh normally delivers..it did today. Interesting freight, high density passenger activity, 47841 / 47501 on (don't quote me) but special from Glasgow to Southampton docks I believe. Plus a gathering 'herd' of 444's, and the Ruston 07007 making an appearance. Much footage to work through with further uploads to follow including 71000, plus the weekly down sand, and other p/w workings. Weat...

Had few hours to kill on sunday, so had quick look at Salisbury. Long view entire approach to Milford Jnc / Monk Fryston. Loco hitting the stops with some interesting oscillation on the bogie ride and kicking up spray on the point frogs - positively wants to go sideways if could! Interesting what compression on the zoom can flag up. Rock and Roll!

They’re some great pictures, lots of memories! I remember platform one when it was there and, our family was often allowed to use the little parcel bridge with my mum’s pushchair! Even today I think of the three remaining platforms as two to four!! They were still numbered that way for a long time after platform one was taken away.
Nice photos. My grandfather was based at Eastleigh till he retired in 1965.

i appsulutly love class 57s and 66s is 66182 going in the sidings like that class 220 voyager and the east midlands 450 here comes 57310 again hehe
