Ive watched JakenBake's live stream and other Japan based streamers and this happens to a lot of girls walking alone or even in groups, regardless of what you wear. Best bet is to pretend that you don't speak a word of Japanese, speak Hokkien or something. And if you encounter a stalker, try to go to a group of foreigners and tell them about it and hang out with them for a while. Please don't let this affect your mood, this happens to a lot to girls in Japan, it doesnt matter what you wear, even if you have a mask on they will still follow. If you're at a crowded area, just call them out loudly while taking videos of these stalkers.

Generally i think most Japanese people dress quite conservative so it might be possible that how you dress was what attracted those men to harrass you but thank goodness nothing happened to you. Can't imagine how scary that wouldn't been for you especially when you're traveling solo
