i get why reading them closely makes L,T sounds beat up and done, but i've read years apart and then reread the love hypothesis later and thought it was of course veryyyy similar but idk nicely done? also dr. i recently reread the love hypothesis after reading Love, Theoretically. By know I've reread all of them and truly the improvement is THERE. The plot thickens a little, but she keeps the bantering and humour light and compelling which i LOVE. and yeah they're all kind of similar, but at the same time she does it better and better and the changes are enough for me to feel like a completly different book. ok as a woman in STEM myself maybe im a little biased, but she does write our struggles perfectly can't wait to hear your thoughts on love, theretically my fav so far...

I have like 300 books in my tbr lmao, i should do this too also, I noticed you have the second book of the mara dyer series in yours, and that's a trilogy where you need to read them in order so you might wanna fix that! But some books you had like #1 and #4 might have been those kind of series that are only a series bc the secondary characters in one book are the main ones in another, and you might have been interested in the plot of book 1 and 4 but not 2 and 3

I agree with pretty much all of these. there have been plenty of times where I finish a book and feel that there was a lot of parts that could have been condensed without compromising the story. longer doesn't always = better! and also agree with character death / serious injury. if the author is trying to convince me that the stakes are high, I want to feel like there are actual consequences

first one and last one are so real!! i recently read a book and i felt there was such a natural point where the male love interest should've died and it was lowk unrealistic that he lived tbh. i would've rather he died and read about the fmc's grief and recovery and learning to recover from previous trauma on her own now that she had begun her healing process w the mmc. with that being said this was a more happily ever after type romance so obvi that didn't happen. and for the last one i actually hate epilogues they typically add nothing lol. one time i read a book and the epilogue actually made it worse and moved my rating down .5 stars lmao

I have a shelf on my Goodreads for any book I DNF’d after more than 15% (if I read less than that, then I don’t bother tracking it), and there are 68 books from just the last 20 months 😳😳

I bought all the twisted series and I’m pretty positive that’s the last time I bought all the books in a series without reading the first book first. I’ve managed to read the first two but I did not have a good time at all. The last two are sitting on my tbr pile when they really should be in a dnf pile. I’ll probably force myself to try them eventually since I paid for them but it taught me not to do that anymore.

I loved Fourth Wing and Iron Flame! I gave them both five stars! The third book comes out in January. I can’t wait for book three! I loved Harry Potter! I grew up with it.

100% Yes, Ana Huang’s twisted series is so toxic. I think that was the last series that I bought all at once because of book tube. Now I buy the first book, if I like then and only then will I buy the rest. I also have not liked any of Emily Henry’s books, they’re just not for me and that’s okay. I’m always glad when there’s another person who has similar views to mine because it feels so rare 😂

Please read Emily Henry’s Happy Place first. I love her writing but completely agree with all your opinions and Happy Place is just her best book.
