Decker's Pondscapes
США
Добавлен 21 июн 2016
Roughly 30 years ago, Alan and Jodi Decker became immersed in the art of pond building. The company began in 1990 as a design/build landscaping company. Quickly, earning a reputation for work perfection and excellent customer service.
In 1994, Alan understood that the company should be channeling themselves into a suitable niche. Alan always had a strong appreciation for the outdoors and felt that water features were a natural fit. Jodi kept noticing how their customers were always asking them pond-related questions regarding installation or supplies. Water features were a logical extension of what they were already creating.
Now celebrating 30+ years in business Decker's Pondscapes is the Capital Region (Upstate NY) largest water feature design and retail center. Specializing in creating custom water features for every outdoor space and supply homeowners with water garden products as the areas only Aquascape retailer. Stop in for a visit and stroll the display ponds and enjoy.

Recreation Pond/ Natural Swim Pond
Просмотров 696Месяц назад
This recreational pond was constructed years before our client purchased the property. It was a bare liner pond with no filtration. The new owners contacted us 6-7 years ago and we added a 20x40 wetland and a skim cove. Due to budget they opted to wait until now to have us rock the pond so it is a complete ecosystem. Before we rocked it maintenance costs were high and water clarity was good but...

Hey man, thanks for the help. Is this a good brand? Is there a better option for less money?
@@EcoHavenLandscapingPonds good brand get what you pay for
Cool idea
How many tons of boulders do you have in this build?
@@mikejean9851 over 100
What species is that tree? Beautiful
Nice job. Clay doesn't always settle in water once disturbed. How do you clear the clay particles so it runs clear, without using a pond liner?
Super helpful!! Thanks so much for making this!
Sounds awesome! 🤩
Such an amazing transformation 🎉 Keep up the great work 👏 🙋♀️💖🇨🇱

People who want pond-less waterfalls have no souls. Why on earth would you spend that much money if you can't keep fish in it? Lol!

Awesome job on this one
@@MrSamurai904 thank you
I have some land that has a clay pond in it near the road but I want to fill it in so that I can add a driveway entrance, what issues can I be expecting or how should I approach creating a driveway?
We build them not really fill them in Your going to have to drain it and dig to hard ground Lots of aggregate and compaction I imagine
@@deckerspondscapes9291 I’d love to keep it but I need that extra space, thank you for the advice.
Awesome
That’s very annoying cut the end off of the walk through. And still dying the water that sick teal color after all that work!
@@Daihatsu_Hijet it’s up to the owner after we leave Some people like dye me not so much
Crazy reality of being able to enjoy a true ecosystem. Looks great just looking forward to seeing the results of the pond maturing. Seeing what you guys had to do I was just dumbfounded in why after draining you just did not put a new liner. Of course, I am unaware of what it is costing. Just 'rocking it' added a visual appeal for a clear pond I hope they decide to add koi, but I did not see any provisions for covert tube caves. Overall, a lot of worthwhile work and effort. I wonder what the dimensions for this pond worked out to be and final depth?
How much more does it cost for you to travel to Massachusetts for a job?
@@davidcampbell4429 it all boils down to what’s involved, size , filtration, waterfall We can have a conversation if you like Here is a link to the contact form deckerspondscapes.com/contact/

Beautiful!!!
When I saw you placing all those boulders in front of the head water giant boulders I thought boy I wouldn’t do it like that. But when you finish I was blown away at how beautiful and natural it looks. Everything looks so natural. You and your crew are very talented!
@@caryfriar2504 Thank you
@@caryfriar2504 when there’s no water in it is hard to tell when you’re not building Thank again
Love that last water fall were it gives the illusion that the water just cut right through bed rock. The matching of the lines on the flanking stones & the use of a large flat top rock leading up to the falls. Fantastic! Yes, & the incorporation of those massive granite boulders with splits in them to allude to natural springs... Beautifully done.
@@anthonybowers6024 thank you
Wow, this one has to be some of the best rock placements that I''ve seen yet. Word-class stuff to study and replicate! Also, I was having trouble deciding which fall was my favorite until that last shot of the last (split) falls. The fall that runs through the groove in the boulder was jaw-dropping.

That is breathtaking 😊. It reminds me of growing up in northern Ohio, near the river I used to swim and play in every chance I was allowed.
@@kathycrocker2933 thank you We were in streams and the river growing up also So much fun
Adirondacks? Hm. Never heard of that 😂 My favorite waterfall is the last one going into the pool, how it’s kinda horseshoe shaped, and the water is just dripping or barely flowing over it. Although that pool near the outcrop is also really cool!

Great video. Can you post links to the various straps you use?
And also ... what is the attachment on the excavator to which you hook the straps? Sorry for the newbie comment....

Such a beautiful addition to the back yard. I am sure that the homeowners were thrilled with it. I especially love how you were able to use the rock from the property as it fits in seamlessly. This is one of my favorites that I have seen so far from any of the waterfall creators!

Great video. One thing I didn't see is how do you get the straps off the boulder once it's been placed. It appeared the straps were underneath the boulder.
Killer stuff!
