This is a Hunslet Works No 2857 WD75008 Swiftsure 0-6-0ST steam locomotive built for the UK Ministry of Defence (preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/hunslet-works-no-2857-wd75008-swiftsure-0-6-0st/) It is currently operated by the Kent and East Sussex Railway (kesr.org.uk/) running from Tenterden, Kent running to Bodium Castle, there are 3 stops inbetween, which takes about 50 minutes each way...

This was our favourite layout, it is in 2 parts and the detail is great. In this part there is a man swimming away from an aligator, a small dock and much other detail to admire, especially the trees.

The carriages are about 100 years old but have been refurbished. They are, essentially, the original zoo carriages, we were told.

We thought that the train would be “home built” and made for kids but it’s actually a vintage train, it’s a 22-inch gauge “Class E” miniature steam locomotive built around 1905. www.sfzoo.org/historic-sites-little-puffer-miniature-steam-train/ They have 2 such trains, the one on which we rode was built in 1905 and was regularly used in the zoo since 1925 hence the livery.
