Enya 09-III Test Run #2
This is my second test run of my vintage 1960's Enya .09-III CL engine with the factory Enya muffler. Still running on Omega 15% fuel with the extra Sig AA castor, the Power Prop 8x5 wood propeller and the venturi insert installed. I leaned it out about 2 clicks from run #1 and she seems to be holding a more consistent RPM. I have plans for a nice .099 Sportster control-line plane that this one just might go into. Fun!

Enya 09-III Test Run #1
Просмотров 9283 месяца назад
I'm slowly bringing out some vintage glow engines I have had stashed away for decades,m and today I am test running a 1960's vintage Enya .09-III CL engine. I am fortunate to also have the optional clamp-on muffler to help keep the noise down a bit. I'm running Omega 15% with extra Sig AA castor oil and a Power Prop 8x5 wood propeller and I left the venturi insert installed. This first run was ...
CS .15 Control-Line Glow Engine Test
Просмотров 3743 месяца назад
This is the very first run of my Chinese made CS .15 control-line model airplane engine. I'm using Omega 15% fuel with extra Sig AA castor oil and a Master Airscrew 8x4 nylon prop. This engine does not have a muffler, and the cylinder and exhaust is similar to a Cox Baby Bee .049 making for a very loud engine. I'm hoping that after several tanks it breaks in and I can get a higher peak, but for...

This video shows a newcomer to control-line flying at the Stetson Flyers field. This is a 1/2A Baby Ringmaster airplane powered by a Cox Golden Bee .049 engine, and the pilot did a wonderful job. Bravo!

This is a video showing Yuri flying a 1/2A Baby Ringmaster control-line model powered by a Cox Golden Bee .049 engine at the Stetson Flyers field. He has flown control-line before, but it had been a while, but from the looks of things he easily re-learned what to do and in the end he did a great job. Well done Yuri!
Magnum FT-160 Four Stroke Flat Twin Second Test Run
Просмотров 3944 месяца назад
This is my second run of my friend's Magnum FT-160 four stroke flat twin R/C glow engine. I made some minor adjustments to the needles, and this run seems a bit better than my first attempt. Despite having no muffler pressure, this engine draws fuel very well and it has a distinct sound at idle. Pulls strongly at full throttle. Still using 5% fuel and a Turnigy 17x10 wood prop.
Magnum FT-160 Twin First Test Run
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.4 месяца назад
This is a Magnum FT-160 four stroke flat twin that a friend purchased and I was given the privilege of doing a couple of test runs to ensure everything worked. The high speed needle as well as the idle needle were way off, and somebody must have been messing with them at some point, so it took me a while to get the engine to run. This is the first of two runs I did using 5% fuel and a Turnigy 1...
OS Max-III 15 Control-Line Test Run #3
Просмотров 3134 месяца назад
This is test run $3 of my very vintage OS Max-III control-line engine and this time I managed a full tank of fuel. It's still not at peak RPM, but I'm happy that it ran the full tank. It needs more run time and tuning, but I am sure I will get there.
OS Max-H 40 R/C Glow Engine Idle Test
Просмотров 3334 месяца назад
This is the second video of my vintage OS Max-H .40 R/C glow engine. I am still running Omega 10% fuel with the extra Sig AA castor oil and a MA 10x6 prop. This time I leaned out the carb a bit and am testing the idle. Seems to be reasonable for now, but I will keep tinkering.
OS Max-H 40 R/C Engine Test Run

This is a short video to show my test of a vintage OS Max-H .40 R/C glow engine. This engine features dual ball bearings on the crankshaft, unlike the Max-S versions which are plain bearing types. Running Omega 10% fuel with added Sig AA castor oil and a Master Airscrew 10x6 prop. This engine hasn't been run in ages but she still hand starts easily and runs well. I have the low end too rich at ...

Today I finally got in some stick time after over 10 years. One of my old fun fly planes, In the past I always used the OS .46 LA. Good engine. the 40 LA is total junk!! I was using a .40 Fox on this plane, very under powered! I bought a NIB OS .40 MAX FX. What a power house!!! I'm tuning it back a bit next flight but today I got it up to 14600 RPM. I took it up once at that speed on the last flight. I figure I will back it off a tad next flight!!😁
Is it just me or is running and tuning an engine on a stand just as enjoyable as flying the actual plane?
33年前玩過,玩完雙手都是油,吵死人的引擎😂
Can you tell me what fuel these run on?
Kinda juicy.
Sembra regolare...che elica tira ?
So, mechanical injection?
Nice video of a rare version of the Yon Yan (aka Silver Swallow). C.S. were the last company to manufacture it.
As a kid I had one bought second hand. To date its the only engine I have failed to get running reliably....
Genious move having the exhaust going on to the fuel line
Nice engine Steve
BzzzzZZZZzzzZzzzZzzZzzzzZZZZ
Somebody on RCG is selling one of these in Ottawa for $275!
Yes.......I am on behalf of a friend, and it sold almost immediately.
@@stevemaines4038 It was a great price!
Sounds smooth and ready for some air time!
🐝
Nice to see these vintage glow engines run!
I feel that the older OS engines seem to run better than the new stuff. My AX46 and FX46 both had the cylinder liners peel reducing both engines to trash.
@@stevemaines4038 Yes, that seems to be a common complaint. OS made an error.
AAP muffler
So....not the stock muffler?
@@stevemaines4038 No sir! The muffler on your YS is made by Advanced Aero Products / AAP…. Those are really nice mufflers; they increase performance. steel construction & internal baffling tube. -I actually bought two NOS AAP mufflers for my YS’s, from the guy who owned AAP in the 90’s.
@@stevemaines4038 - The muffler on your YS is from AAP / Advanced Aero Products who specialized in YS and pattern parts. I bought 2 of them new from the guy who owned AAP in the 90’s 🤙
Bisson muffler
Thanks, wasn't sure of the brand. It's a bit loud.
Pretty much the first glow engine I fired up in late 90's that was on a Skyward Mean Mudder...😊
I have an old Torpedo 35 , might did that thing out after watching this. The Enya was always a desired power plant back in my day!
Dam that’s crazy bro about to build some shi
Just make sure you put something in that engine so that castor oil doesn't gum it up and make it a mess.
I always flush my engines with Marvel Mystery Oil regardless if plain bearing or ball bearing. I've never had any issues this way. Thanks
That’s how I spend my Saturdays too LOL
Your neighbors must love you. 🤣🤣🤣
They all know I'm eccentric, but there is one grumpy neighbour....LOL
Love the way the AAP mufflers sound on the YS 4 cycles
Сколько кг тяги?
what carb is that?
The engine is box stock, so the Enya carb.
Ого! Крутой звук! Мощный такой... Как кот-мурчит!
That is a sweet running and glorious sounding Enya. Sounds better than mine!
The idle really is a charm!
Beautiful engine..what an idle
That's! The exaud-valve system. I know That's First time Off my thander Tiger Gp Magnum 1,79 CC Nitro Car 1:10 Panda .
👍👏👏🌟🍀💯 1:31
Boa tarde que legal esse motor, Super top like 👍
Basically the same SF series engine with a better heatsink head.
Exactly, an OS FSR engine with the heli heat sink head.
I have the same engine in an old heli. They run great.
Hey Steve this is Robert. Cool engine! I am not the only one who would like to see you back out with guys at the field
Thanks, and I still have my hands in things despite some house cleaning lately.
What a great sound!
❤ the open rockers
Me too, something mesmerizing watching them open and close.
I love that you can see the valves moving. Awesome!
My friend Mark had one on an Avistar in 1991! Brings back great memories 😊
whats carb?
It is the Webra carb that came with the engine. I have three identical Webra 40 ringed 2-stroke engines and they all use the same carb. Was not an after market item.
@@stevemaines4038I've got one that's a little older than yours, she's brand new never been ran just oiled here and there. Plan on putting it on something soon
Could you explaon the nitro gas mixture? I just got one used, and thats the key element im missing 😢
The fuel is hobby glow fuel, which is comprised of methanol, oil, and nitro-methane. Most hobby fuels have around 18% oil and anywhere from 5% to 20% nitro by content.
I just was given this engine by a friendly neighbor. Don't know the condition. I have no experience with gas engines at all. Looks like fun.
The OS Max 40SR was a power house in it's day and still has a lot of poke.
P r o m o S M 😊
Idling nice...
My experiences with Webra have all been extremely positive and they all start, run and idle very well.
A very good vintage.
Perfect carb set up Steve
Thanks :-)
Can you please tell me the Thrust of this GP15 engine?
No clue, and I have no way to measure that. Why do you ask?
