    It’s handy to have/use a ‘flat’ socket wrench to disconnect the positive/red/plus. There is an Allen key in the bottom of the saddle! And, BEWARE! When you have disconnected “-/- (negative/black)” then you disconnected the “+ (positive/red)” with a spanner then make sure you would not lose the threaded contra part of the bolt! { this is when you take the battery out to charge. A new battery probably would provide that part new. }. I had forgotten and just found out so I had to use a nut instead. Besides, when putting the battery in I found it easiest to FIRST connect the PLUS/positive/red ( even though ideally positive comes after negative/minus/black ). It’s just that Honda has placed the battery in a tricky way/spot/place.

    Loved the review Vipin! You provided a more thorough assessment of the bike compared to many major Indian media outlets. I'm considering this one or the upcoming F900GS as my next adventure bike after the Africa Twin. A friend mentioned that the DX sold in India comes with the lower 865mm accessory seat. Perhaps Ducati India can confirm this information.

    • @MotorcyclingMusician
      @MotorcyclingMusician 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much for your appreciation Krishant. I’ve ridden the older F900 and I loved it too.. I suppose your choice will have to be based on a simple question - Is Adv/Dirt riding what you’d like to pursue and do the most or is it more road/highway/touring oriented riding?

  • @CRFadventure
    @CRFadventure 9 месяцев назад

    Honda "forgot" to put a battery on this motorcycle and engineered in a rather stupid way a place to put it in. I still dont understand the toolbox plastic thing and the strange bracket when there is a special place under the rider seat as well. They build a very good motorcycle but not thought about the maintenance and how to get there to do it.

    • @MotorcyclingMusician
      @MotorcyclingMusician 9 месяцев назад

      I agree, it’s very inconveniently located and badly designed with the tool box and that metal bracket.. the only saving grace is that with LiIon batteries, you don’t need to go back there for almost 3 years.

    8:19 That is not called a distancer, its called bush bearing spacer. It is created using power metallurgy, As far as I know there is only 1 factory which makes it in India. Suraj Components from Ludhiana.

      @MotorcyclingMusician 9 месяцев назад

      @@MotorcyclingMusician welcome 🙏, nice video BTW. I really liked the Honda AT but it was over my budget and I didn't want a adv as of now... I got myself a CBR650R 2022 in September 2022. It's awesome. Very manageable and easy to maintain.

      Thank you as always for appreciating! The Sled and the DesertX are very very different in my limited opinion as I've ridden the Sled for a very short distance. The ergo's are very different, as is the CG and the suspension.. not to mention a completely new chassis . Do read this, it's well written with similarities and differences between the Sled, Desert X and the Multi - motofomo.com/ducati-desertx-different/#ducati-desertx-similarities-and-differences--in-a-nutshell

      @@MotorcyclingMusician Thanks for the article, great read! On paper yes they’re very different but in the real world it seems they’re quite similar in terms of handling and ease of off road riding, going by your review here. I suppose you can pull out the dip stick and see if the oil is still viscous and not dark and cloudy… then again, might as well change it, it’s not that big an expense.

      Well, it would be interesting for someone who's starting his journey as an Adv motorcyclist.. a good 40 odd kgs lighter and lower in height is surely making it more ridable to that category, but for me who's already comfortable on the Africa Twin, I think not. Yes, a 100 kg enduro bike interested me, but not a 200 kg tourer.
