Ok i have a 1995 toyota celica i have replaced the starter i have replaced the battery and replaced the fuse for the starter and thing wont make so much as a sound. Any ideas what it might be?

Putting 2 wires under a screw as you did with the ground is not permitted by code, you need to pigtail or use a green grounding wire nut which connects the 2 wires and feeds a single wire for the ground screw. Use a receptacle tester (their cheap) to verify correct wiring. You could have a reverse polarity condition and the lamp or clock will still work, but it's a shock hazard. You have a black and white wire, but you never know who did what before you. It helps to be thorough when doing this.

I’m lucky my dad is the maintenance training supervisor, and taught me how to do these. Ended up changing 10 by myself, with him watching and turning the power off and on for me. It is really simple, now to have him teach me how to fix an ac unit and replace a hot water heater. 😂

Some of us have known this trick for over 50 years. Nothing new here.

Gunna have to stop you at the jumping it means the batteries dead. Cuz I thought that too but after buying a new battery I found out one of my relays is bad and for some reason extra power helped that relay work.

What does it mean when you Jumpstart the battery for 20 mins( lites come on) but not even a clicking sound when turning on ignition. The Car part store said that because I bought my battery new from them in Sept 2021, that it has now; "expired." I have never heard of that. They suggest I buy a new $200 battery from them. I did not tap my starter because its too hard to reach;2006 Honda CRV. Any suggestions?

you didn't close up the wire loops around the screws before tightening them up. Since you were taking the screws off the old outlet, I wouldn't have widened the wire loops. I would have taken the screws off the new outlet and put the new screw through the wire loop and then screw it down. The way you did it leaves a greater chance for the wires to come loose or completely off when you have to twist the outlet around and push it back in the box. The more wire you can grab with the screw the better. That is why it was looped so tightly in the first place. Just an observation.

Maybe I'm just picky, but I would have tried to vacuum out the debri in the outlet box.

? Do the battery have to be disconnected when banging on the starter with hammer I thought u have to have somebody turn the key while u bang on the starter

Since we don’t all have three hands, you should put something to cushion the metal arm in case you accidentally let go or need to set it down. God forbid it gets away from you and cracks the glass.

As I was working on my sons derby car last weekend I had kind of a horrible thought. I remembered last year in my sons cub scouts seeing some of the little ones racing the block of wood with no cuts or shape. I started thinking about this last weekend and I felt sick to my stomach, as I’m cutting the body with my 12” miter saw.. Because I know there are little guys that don’t have their fathers around to help or to build their car. They had to do it on their own. And there is no way they were going to win. The thought of it all just made me think about those kids. It’s kind of a metaphor for life. Anyways I didn’t mean to be a downer. Good tips man.

Hit the solenoid, not the motor casing. You might dislodge a magnet and then you're really screwed.
