What I got in the KnitPicks/WeCrochet 2024 Sampler! I really enjoyed getting to try some yarns before buying project quantities and I can’t wait to use some of these soon! The sampler came with seven 10 gram mini skeins of some of their yarns and a 4.0 mm Caspian needle and 4.5 mm Reflections needle with cables. Needle Review: I already have a set of metal interchangeable needles, which I love, so I didn’t need to try the Reflections needle. The Caspian needle was surprisingly nice. Generally, I don’t like wooden needles so I expected to not like them. However, the needles are really nice, not nice enough to convince me to buy more, but that’s mostly because I love metal needles. Yarn Review: Andean Treasure: 100% Alpaca yarn and it is heavenly. It felt like knitting and crocheting with a cloud. It did shed a little bit, but that is a small price to pay for the softness of this yarn. Simply Cotton: 100% Cotton yarn that is not mercerized. It is a little on the stiff side, but that’s common with 100% cotton. It’s nice but I don’t see myself using it for any projects. Swish: 100% Fine Superwash Merino. Probably my favorite yarn in this sample box, I hope that I can find the perfect project for it soon! Palette: 100% Wool yarn that feels quite rustic. It was also quite splitty while I was working with it. Twill: 100% Superwash Merino Wool. I loved this yarn, it was so soft, smooth, and lovely, I hope that I can make something with it soon! Wool of the Andes: 100% Wool. This yarn surprised me, I really didn’t think I would enjoy a non-superwash wool, but it was really nice! Hawthorne: 80% Superwash Wool, 20% Nylon. This yarn is super nice, it is very smooth and soft and the addition of nylon would make it great for making accessories.

Then theres me who cant even knit but tried yesterday (it went as well as u could expect aka terrible)

Ah yes yarn barf. My mom told me thats the reason she re-winds her skeins into balls/cakes. Helps cut down the tangled a lot

I’m not sure if the knots translated well on camera but they were HORRIBLE. I also took the video after I was a good ways through untangling. This also isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with tangling on this project. It happened when I was winding the yarn and when I first started. I’m not sure why it’s been so bad on this project but I just hope I can finish this sweater knot free!

I kinda of did something similar with my vest , I crocheted all of the ribbing and knitted the rest
