Very good video excellent I like the way you use that pinecone and made a tie out point where there wasn’t one where exactly where you needed it. Excellent job also I like your fire pit as well. Look forward to seeing some more of your videos.
A tent aside while learning ?? 🤔🤔
Me and my friend (both girls) went for a wild camp in the peak district to a popular spot. When we pitched, there was not a soul around, and it was getting dark. As we set up and started cooking, some guys came over the hill and shouted from a distance, saying we were in their pitch and "Get the f**k out of our spot!" Our pride made us stay, and they pitched close by - but enough with enough distance to keep our peace. Or so we thought... While we sat out stargazing and talking about settling in for the night, we were blinded by the head torches of the same guys. They had come over to our camp, trying to intimidate us. Again, pride made us stay but I hardly slept and had my knife with me the entire night - worst trip ever. I'm glad you trusted your gut and got out of there. that must have been so scary for you, I'm glad you're ok.
It's always good to get back to the basics. Great video!
Sticks Outdoors Bushcraft sent me too, glad he did, subbed 👍😀
👍🏼❤
Thank you for sharing another great video!
I am so glad you trusted your gut instinct and went home and got back home safe and sound. That is always the best thing to do. Saftey should always come first.
Great video and tips! Thank you so much for sharing!
I thought you were an expert!
@@andrewarthurmatthews6685 I appreciate that but I don’t consider myself to be an expert (yet)
I love this. Thanks so much 🤘💃✌️

Excellent video Jess - My tarp is a pretty cheap affair with 6 eyelets but the button trick(pine cone thingy) is something I had not thought of - I have watched 100's of hours of camping video's and this is the first time I've seen this.
I have a couple of other tricks that I use when setting up but the button one is the most useful I think! Cheap tarps with eyelets can still do the job, they just take a bit more persuasion sometimes!
Sticks Outdoors Bushcraft sent me. Informative and beneficial video.
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to insult you. But probably the number one thing you must own if you're serious about outdoors is a fit body. You won't survive in wild life because you can't run, jump, you carry too much of your body weight and your metabolism is crap. Go to gym and get get on the healthy diet. Nobody is going to listen to your advice because they all know you won't survive in an actual outdoor survival situation.
I got a D and D Tarp with tabs. After 3 months of intense heat and sun .The Tarp became so brittle I could poke my finger through it. Good tarps but don't like the desert. Or extreme sun.Absolutely agree with the tabs, Jess. Nice vid.
@@alexanderwright9064 I couldn’t imagine having to work with that level of intense heat! What shelter system would you recommend for extreme heat?
@Jess_Outdoors637 Shade. Bushes grass Tarp. Because I live and work in a hot place. What happens is your blood gets thinner. So u adapt. My state is bigger than the UK but only has about 300 thousand people or so. Because it can b harsh for some. I have tropical rainforest ,tropical savanna and desert. Mainly I stay in Kakadu. Which is where the first croc dundee movie filmed . We got the most crocs in the world. I learn from native people shelters. Love watching cool climate Jess..!
@Jess_Outdoors637 Actually I live in Northern Territory, not a state. I'm a Territorian as we call ourselves.
Good video Good advice Jess 🫡💪
@@Sticksoutdoors Thank you! Appreciate your support 💚🏕️ 🔥 🫡
I've recently started using tarps for camping and I've not seen the 'button' technique before. Pure genius! Thank you. New sub from a couple of videos ago.
@@everydayprepper Thanks and welcome to the channel! The button technique is useful because you can use anything from crushed up leaves to stones and cones 🙂
wise words great skills great channel well done subd
Absolutely pukka well done on the whole video💪💪 i thought it was great and your explanations to the camera are too I’ve subbed and am looking forward to watching through your content 💪🫡💪🫡
@@Sticksoutdoors Thanks so much an welcome to the channel! 🔥🪵🏕️
Very good video, clear instructions, thank you =)
Fire and knives =)
Hi =) Came across your video today. You're really good at explaning what you're doing :P Easy to understand. I love to watch people outside and playin outside with fire and knives. Since that is what I love to do myself :D
@@ErikWidlund fire and knives are a vibe! I’ve got some stone knife making videos on my channel too 🙂
This is interesting thank you, may Jesus Bless you! He is the Way the Truth and the Life!
This is interesting. The audio is a notch lower than normal tho
I thought it sounded different while editing but just assumed I was imagining it, thank you!
Nice 👍
That's amazing, well explained thank you.
You should use all the products from your tutorials to work towards a final project!
Excellent tutorial thanks for sharing.
I’m sure you made the right choice. I like that you roasted a marshmallow. I always take one, just one with me. Greetings from Idaho, USA. Stay safe.
Just found you channel. Thanks for Sharing.
Just found your channel. I’m a disabled widow in the US, Tennessee. Just wanted to say what an AWESOME job you did! And that listening to your gut can absolutely save your life. I live in a state where we can have protection, but I certainly don’t want to be put in a position where I have to use it. That’s where your awareness of your surroundings gives you the opportunity to get out to avoid a potentially dangerous person. Great job with the tarp, and great job handling the bug out. I’m now forwarding your info to my 12 yo grandson. We love camping, and he will definitely benefit from watching you. Take care. Best wishes!
@cathyjay2569 Thank you and greeting from Scotland! 🏴 Yes, our laws are such that we are very limited in what we can carry on our person and we have actually just had new knife legislation come in as well which limits what you are allowed to own/use at home too. I have plenty of content on my channel and I upload on a regular basis, so I hope to enjoy perusing my library of adventures! 🇺🇸 ♥️ 🏴
@@Jess_Outdoors637 I am doing so right now. Matter of fact I will probably binge watching you for a few hours! And our government has gone off the rails. I suspect it won’t be long now…we will all be totally controlled by their obscene legislation. Living in the woods may be our only viable option. You are well on your way to mastering the skills, and I am very much enjoying your camps! Thank you again!
How do you like the wide, flat fabric loops for tie-outs on that tarp? I've only ever used thinner ones, typically stitched on bits of paracord or something of the like. Your video popped up in my recommended feed and I always enjoy this kind of content, so I liked and subscribed. You've got a great voice for narration and I appreciate your candor. I'd have peaced out too had I seen some creeper slinking around the trees.
@@ColdHarborOP Thank you an welcome to the channel! I’ve got a good selection of over nighters so I hope you enjoy perusing my content 🙂 As for the tarp, I’m from Scotland and the winds can be ferocious here! Sometimes I need to stake out the tarp with proper carved stakes to keep it secure. The wide flat loops are the perfect size for this and they seem to offer more stability than grommets when the tarp is under a lot of strain
@@Jess_Outdoors637 Thanks for the reply, that's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.
😁👍 Greetings from Germany!🇩🇪
A very enjoyable film Jess, and a good call for leaving, safety is paramount when you are out in the wild, trusting your gut instinct is always the best course. All the best, Brian.
@@NaturesSolitude thank you! The amount of support I’ve had for the decision to bail has been amazing. However I’m definitely looking forward to getting back outside for a full over nighter very soon!
@@Jess_Outdoors637 that’s good to hear 😊 and hopefully it’s very soon.
Always trust you're instincts 👍
great video jess <3
I do like that little pit you've got, do you know the make/model please.
amzn.eu/d/bCDUI0h It’s an Orland fire pit available on Amazon! It comes in two sizes as well 🙃
Well done for getting out of there. That sounded really dodgy and I would definitely have done the same.
It’s the first time I’ve had to bail on a trip but better to be safe than sorry!
I went out with my first tarp today. I've taken some good points from this video. Ta.
Absolutely brilliant upload thank you very much. You are such a cute lady. You have got yourself another subscriber. All the best.
Loving your channel Jess, videos are great. Just subscribed from a fellow RUclipsr 😉👍
Trust your gut and keep yourself safe. X
Darn creeps! Glad you're safe. I have little dogs, who bark up a storm if creeps get close. But it's extra work to look after them too.
@@vgnwlf I have been considering getting a dog, the company would be nice but I’m not 100% sure yet!
Glad you are safe, very smart to move from there.
Love the message 💗 hope to see another video soon!
Yes, u can't relax with someone creeping around. Whether you are male or female. Sensible girl . Nice camp spot! Pine cone is a good idea. I have used small stones to replace torn eyelets. But for some reason neva thought to use it as u have. Thanks.!
@@alexanderwright9064 Thank you! Better to be safe than sorry! Also you can use anything! Stones, cones, sticks and even crunched up leaves! Eyelets do have a tendency to break which is why I prefer the sewn in tabs!
@@Jess_Outdoors637 Crunched leaves and sticks good idea. .!
