I binge the Tudors at LEAST once a year. For some reason I like watching it in winter and during the holidays. I still remember watching in its original run. I got Showtime just to watch the Tudors and I was planted in on front of my TV every Sunday it was on. I knew absolutely nothing about H8 before this show. Now I've read so many biographies on Tudor England, medieval England, Richard III, Henry VII, ,, Henry V, etc etc. It introduced me to a whole world I was completely unaware of. Being in the US we didn't learn about H8 in school.

I doubt Henry ever truly regretted his treatment of his wives. To do so would have been a sign of weakness, and Henry was a malignant narcissist, certain that God dictated his actions.

I really do hope that monster who called himself a man and the King of England actually WAS visited by the ghosts of his wives as he laid there breathing his last. I do think he poisoned Catherine of Aragon, had innocent Anne Boleyn put to death (though I will say that was her karma biting her in the backside), let Jane Seymour die due to the INCOMPETENCE of his idiot doctors, and treated Anne of Cleaves like she was nothing when really, she was one FOXY LADY, as her portrait shows. At least history remembers who he truly was. Poor King Henry VIII, you had SUCH promise and potential... but you let that obsession for a son transform you into the monster we read about today. But I thank you and Anne Boleyn, too, for the two of you gave to the great nation that is England Elizabeth I - who outshined you. Poor, poor Henry.
