2 mode but definitely shitsucks new Gundam series

Gunpla is getting bigger every year and it's not stopping. However a section of it will shrink and shrivel, maybe even die. Recently the fandom focus seems to be given to Master Grade and lamenting about them getting shafted, but in reality is that few people collect Master Grade at all. Making them regular release is unsustainable business. This was my feeling when they shafted Mobile Armors and 1/550 series in general.

In my opinion Gunpla isn't dying but some MG kits are hell of a rare these days 😅

Bandai seen the amount we will pay for a 3rd party 1/100 kit, these pull an easy $100+ and now think they can get that for a mg kit.

I went and looked thought you meant they made a digital card game. I remember the old card game it died like 20 years ago in the US. I still have some of the old cards like a Duo, Heero, and a Leo

i really only buy maybe 1 to 4 kits year at best. i didnt buy any during 2024, i think maybe 1 or 2 in 2023 maybe. most of my kits where bought probably around 2018 to 2020 and they are all done except 1 that i started painting and never finished its like 98% done, i still need to paint the little wing things that stick off the shoulder of the age 2. i bought 2 of them 1 is just snapped together the other i painted white to be like the one wolf get near the end of gundam age. edit: since you talked about old kits, i still have a few of my old kits from the early 00s when gundam was sold in places like Wal-Mart in the US

Unpopular opinion: I'm actually relieved the prices are going up. It helps me be a bit more picky in my hobby purchases. A decade ago I used to be the guy who would buy a kit as soon as it's released. Now I would only buy a kit if it's a mech I like or if I need it for a competition. Leaves me with more funds to buy paints and other tools as well. And my backlog doesn't pile up as fast too.

Maybe the proliferation of different kits is on the decline but I do feel like modeling is on the up and up. Bringing back all the old HG lines has been awesome and the level of detail new ones are getting is great. Inflation is definitely something everything is getting these days too. I got into gunpla at the beginning of covid. And I can say I pretty much have everything I'd want and it isn't a lot either. with MG you basically realized in one line, there's basically one frame that encapsulates all the other suits so you don't buy as much because it will be a repeat build experience. So I guess for me what I want out of building is a new build experience. Regardless of how awesome a kit looks.

For some reason Japan mostly uses its anniveraries to announce something, instead of already having it ready and release it during the hype of the anniversary. I never undertood that.

Gunpla is not dying. But the good old days are behind us. BamCo sank money into the Metaverse for nothing. Scalpers, and P-Bandai are at an all-time worst. The bigger factory has been delayed and delayed for years now.

gunpla releases may be slow, but the third party is killing it currently building sky defender. It's an amazing build

if they keep making stuff that nobody wants, no shtt not many ppl will buy it =_+ still waiting for them to reprint Strike Daggers so I can have an army, was only able to pick up 6 of em during lockdown cuz I didn't have any $$$ to spare =_+ also waiting for that HG Gold Frame with the Bazooka and Revolution Destiny to be reprinted

Mecha musume isnt dying but gunpla is. Bandai has stupid woke business practices and lack of mgs for " save the planet " bullshit and cost cutting isnt helping either. Theres a new koto girl literally every 3 weeks. Its ashame i got into the hobby as a kid in the 90s, went back in like 2005 and finally came back again in 2019 and have built close to a 100 mgs 2 pgs and very few hgs rgs as i dont like that size at all. From looking at the past, it seems many people like me were passionate with the mg line, yet bandai chases fads with the hgs. Lastly besides the seed freedom movie there hasnt been a good Gundam anime since IBO. People online are so vocal about WFM but doesnt seem to me like it hsd any staying power. The new one looks stupid too. I dont see why bandai only regulates movies or OVAs to make gundam great again. The only passion for the franchise are new kids who chase trends., us 40 year olds who have been with gundam for years feel alienated.

Au contraire, more and more people are getting into it. I recently got into it and all the Reddit/Facebook groups are full of new people like me. Gunpla is doing fine.

What they need to do is go full on U.C. RG Rick Dom, GM, Zaku 2.0, Gouf, all of them. MORE MG GMs, MORE MG ZAKUs AND RE-PRINTS OF OTHERS LIKE THE GM SNIPER CUSTOM, GOUF PROTOTYPE, MG DWAGE, MG ZAKU CANNONS ETC... they need to also do more for requiem for vengance, high grade gm, gouf, and guntank. There is a boat load of ideas but they refuse to use them. VER KA. , they need to go back and improve on the flimsyness that the old one were. They announce that bandai were having the RG Barbatos in the works a few years ago and no news. Its disappointing

Times certainly have changed but I think Gundam as a whole is getting bigger. The most recent CEO was Gundam themed, and the new card game coming out. Yeah it does feel like they may be picking off Gunpla but prices for everything is going up and they are making so many other types of Plamo. So the hobby its self looks safe to me.

Im with you. I think the new design is badass. And the series is being written by hideaki anno and a lot of other people from studio gainax are working on it. So the Eva-ness makes sense.

Not sure if I’m a fan of being able to have every single gun on your bot. Having bots which specialized in one thing and had one weapon type was a lot more interesting and better imo

Wing gundam hand out the best card in the set because it has no answer outside of being lv 5 which white has. Though the heero yuun is a weak pilot, this card carries him. And the way you answer wing gundam is having your lv5 blocker not attack , make wing gundam yourself or the other version the LV5 4/3 , it also gets to 7 attack when linked which mean you will be able to trade equally Char zaku 2 was an amazing card... till white has all the answer to token like Dariblade and Perfect strike. Making Falmel and zaku 2 was one of the best cards in green became mid. First contact sadly is bad atm because there is only 10 max resources, and it is a useless card after 1st cast. You also need to play with white to dig it into grave, wing bird is better as it offers 2/2 body on the field. The problem rn is there isn't enough of Deploy, swing boss monsters to completely take over the game to pay for your ramp effort You nailed the card on Stand up, it is not an aggro card. It is a trade card because you only break 1 shield at a time, so having more AP is about having enough AP to break through Blocker and trading

White is strong because white stats line is amazing and they also anti green token and the only color doing it so well. Busted card: Dariablade, Perfect strike, Overflowing,Strike gundam (filter deck) .Aile is good but it is still a 5C you need a pilot and the stats 4/4 is the same as Perfect strike. While bouncing opp unit is nice, it is useless vs any cheaper deck and link gundam. Not to mention all of those strike gundam are linked to Akira. It also has Arch angel base which is amazing the more cards being revealed, also remember Perfect Gundam and Aile are ALL LV5 which mean they cant be targeted by Wing. In short you need to play white, not only they have cheap, amazing digging tool into the deck, 2 amazing blocker and good interaction cards. Pairing with Green and you have an OP deck in beta

people are pissed because we don't get any master grades. give us master grade then we talk card game.

People just need to accept that certain games aren't made for them. Not all games are made for you alone. Keep this in mind if you're gonna buy a game.

I'm really glad they cooked, that just looks like a much more polished game than the beta, the melee animation is much better and the maps are insane

I got one of the slots in the Orlando Early Trail Event. I read through the whole website and it says ticket includes the price of the Beta Box, but doesn't specify how the players are going to get them. Maybe they hand them to us before our slot time? And I couldn't figure out if it the 64 capacity was total, or per timeslot, so I don't know how lucky I was to grab a slot the second they went live.
