my question is ? is it for sale or trade 😎 plz let me know
Put a V8 in it not hard to replace
My second boss' son had one of those (Oshawa plant) as a project car 30 years ago. First generation Chevy Nova. Those 250s were a good engine. Mostly this era and before suffering from actually worn out valves and valve seats if it's been run on Unleaded fuel. Also worn out valve drive gears or chain and it's "drifting" so it's almost impossible to set it accurate as it's constantly wandering in and out. Going to need head rework new hardened seats and valve train parts then it's going to be reliable again. Don't ignore the transmission either though they were pretty solid then.
Get a vacuum /fuel pump tester gauge working. Connect it and watch the needle per the instructions. It will tell you a lot of what is going on with the carb and the engine internally.
At about 5:25 I think if you are doing wet sanding, the problem is not too much water, rather you need much more/longer sprays so as to wash all of the slurry away and to see how you are getting along before continuing to sand. Also wash the slurry off of the sanding disk so as to unclog it. Have a couple spray bottles handy that put out a good heavy spray or even have the garden hose handy. Some kits may have a fine creme polish that you use to smooth the plastic after the last part of the sanding. By the time the clearcoat/sealer applications are to begin everything should be completely cleaned of polish and sanding slurry and completely dry, maybe with the use of a clean microfiber cloth. Helps to have the hood at least partially open.
Best tool in the dewaltiverse

Thanks man Video helped me out a lot with my project.
Great video I was reminiscing I built my KD175 in 21 she was imported from the US i did a full engine overhaul rebored crank clutch bearings ect and now she rides and runs brilliant I live in Sherwood forest Nottinghamshire UK this bike loves the woodland and is at home there I own a few bikes and the KD has become my favourite ride...I also managed to register it she's now street legal.
Seriously? Did you even look at your video before you posted it? Do you not own a shop light? What about this dark ass video would inspire anyone to want to subscribe to your channel? Seriously!
I would of pop the hood instead of tape it
Both.
As complicated as it is to grind down the rivet to replace just that catch, considering you have to remove the backing plate anyway, just swap backing plates with the piece already riveted in... only those may not be alumnium. Still, my original latch lasted 21 years
What
Good job!
I recognize several Salina area cars in that group, thanks for sharing.
They don't make them anymore...congratulations for your work
I have the same problem.
Pathtic . Why post > Why the foul lingo ?
Looks like a 77 model
Hey man, what happened to the bike? I just got exactly the same a year ago and still getting some parts from ebay, as mine looks a bit not complete than yours. Btw, I live in Chicago, IL.
Nice Machine! I'm still an amateur but am about 85% complete restoring a KT 250. Thanks for posting all the great info, it's helpful for all us trying to learn.
It's great to see Florence is going again. It was at the last one in they raced in the 70s, a young one and only pit crew member fueling my brother's bikes. Brother Charles crashed out on his Yamaha mono shock in the rock query, and Tommy finished on his Elsinore. Kawasaki is looking good. Great video. Thanks for posting 👍🏼
You made that snap ring look so easy!!! I’m still fighting it. I need a better pick I think….
Shouldn't the rod drop under its own weight - that looks a bit tight to me?
the rod MUST drop under its own weight
OMG!!!!!! I had a 1980 Kawasaki KD175. It was orange. I miss that bike. I was 15 when I had that. Awesome video my friend. Brought me back some good memories.
Good score there...lucky person...just sayin 😊
Had this back when i was a lad . Good torquey engine rode it for years without any issues wish. I still owened it. Have you checkedd the rotary valve for warpage and or the exhaust for any excessive carbon build up.Also the enrichener in the. Carb .
I’m doing a 65 nova & would like to know where you got the measurements for your car. Thanks
I used the "1962 Chevy 2 Passenger car shop manual" that Chevy put out.
“Squirt Russell”
I need to replace a clip because it seems to be bent. The previous owner did it when he removed the trim. So am I understanding right when that to remove the clip all I need to do is pull them out with a needle nose?
They have a little latch on them, if its bent it may pop right off. The clips lock into a stud that is welded to the body. A little screw driver could be used to lift that little tab up.
Thanks for posting this video! My 1980 Chevy K20 came from the factory with WARN locking hubs and it's the same color as yours. I replaced all the brake components on it 27 years ago and I thought I'd remember how to do it again. I found out yesterday that my memory is failing me.😟
Maybe the worst video I’ve ever seen.
“Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon”
Passanger side must have been in the sun more then drivers side. The sun will burn through the plastic lens and no amount of sanding will ever make it as clear as the other side. Probably due to where the owner has been parking the vehicle. Also a lot of older Toyotas and older Lexus have a softer polycarbonate plastic (ie more oil) that when are subjected to constant sun light without any protection the sun burns up the lens almost like a permanent sunburn for the lens and that’s why some lens are so cloudy
Does that front fender clear the pipe if you turn left?
It does, but not by much. I think the camera gives it a weird look.
How is the power compared to a CR? I keep reading it is way underpowered. Thanks for sharing.
I never actually got to ride this bike, so I wouldn't be able to give good advice on that.
Extra oil leans the mixture don't blow it up
What is the part called, so that I can order one. Thank you.

One thing is for sure, this guy doesn't need a mirror.😄
Thanks for the update
u can sometimes get away with just plugging in the new one. Started right up. came here to see which gear it should be in when installing. thanks 77 g30 chevy van on column.
I done my first Cub crank pin swap about 60 years ago. If you scribe opposite the crank pin, then on reassembly you only have to adjust by hitting the outer face to bring the scribed face in alignment.
Hey your doing it wrong Step 2 means crack open a cool refreshing beer 🍺
Not bad video. I pulled my 65 Nova heater box 4 years ago and am now just trying to put it back in all cleaned up. This was helpful, but I realize it takes some finesse and maybe modifications to get it back in.
I just got a 1975 MT125 for $50 on facebook marketplace
Condensers fail for fun. Change first and check gaps.
I'm going to search for alternative options to McMaster for the banjo gaskets. If I'm successful I will post the source. Also when I begin to reassemble the lines I'll make a video.
A person could use any 6mm crush washer, whether it be copper, nylon or aluminum. I bought ( Suzuki part number 09168-06004 (replaces part # 09168-06002)) from Rocky mountain ATV and received an aluminum one.
Hi. I am currently dealing with a similar oil line problem on my '76 GT500 on the left cylinder. I did find the part you displayed too so thank you. If I'm correct McMaster wants over $12 for a five pack plus shipping. How many did you replace? Thanks
You end up needing 6 per line for the lines running from the pump to the engine. 2 washers per Banjo bolt you plan to remove.
I believe you will find it very difficult to find a set of gators that will work. They are specific to the T500. There is a guide and a spacer that needs to be installed in groves at the top of the gator, as well as the gator has a ridge that fits into a grove of the fork bottom leg securing it in place. Mine were split. what i did was use a product called "Goo-Gone" to patch them as a stop-gap. If you do find a correct replacement please let me know. Also, if you disassemble the forks there is a special tool to reinstall the fork because there is no way to grip the fork to pull it up into the top triple clamp. I fashioned a 10mm fine threaded rod about 12" long with a "T" handle made of flatbar and a 10mm fine nut. Just thread this into the bolt hole at the top of the fork in order to pull it into place.
Thank you for that info, I bought a set from Diablo cycles, part number: CI-T500-FB ( as of 12/19/23 they look to be out of stock) Not sure how they will work, but I'll do a video on them.
