I arrange folk and traditional songs for the piano, so if you’re interested in learning via playthrough, sheet music, and piano particles videos, you’ve come to the right spot. Hi thanks very much indeed for helping out with your knowledge of this. I’m going to keep checking but do you know for sure if i will be able to access Spotify for artists before the release date? Seems like there is some confusion on forums with some saying you can’t claim it untill the song is ‘live’… again any help very much appreciated!
Sure thing and yes you can. If everything goes smoothly, you'll get access and be able to edit your artist profile before your first release.
I’ve set my first release to Dec 28th and have received all the right emails confirming it’s been sent to stores, have the Spotify UPI etc, BUT no URI. Is there no way to create a Spotify for artists page prior to release? I’m worried the artist name may get taken or does distrokid secure this with Spotify? Any insight here greatly appreciated as am kind of panicking
Hello! Sounds like you're doing everything right. I wouldn't be too worried about the artist name. I believe it's secure for you since it's already been sent to stores. There are duplicate names out there though, and it could get confusing if someone else ends up picking the same name as you. That's out of your control though I think. Sometimes the URI just takes some time so keep checking. Once you have that, you should be able to go in and edit your profile. "The UPI (Universal Product Identifier) confirms that your release is in Spotify's system but hasn’t been assigned a URI yet." Hope this is helpful at all. Sorry to report I don't know too much beyond how it worked for me.
