I feel like CGC is exploiting their customers (i.e. the collectors). The books are supposed to be checked by 3 graders (not that anyone believes that). They KNOW that if they lowball the grade, you will resubmit and they will make extra money off of not only you but other collectors as well. As far as the graders are concerned, it is not a difficult choice: either grade comics for CGC in an air conditioned environment or flip burgers at McDonalds in a hot kitchen. Its a no brainer. If CGC was as passionate about the hobby as the collectors, they would provide grader's notes on all comics to justify the grade and get it right the first time. If we want them to change, we have to protest with our wallets and refuse to give them further business until they start serving the customers better. As long as people simply crack and resubmit (not having to press to improve overall condition beforehand), they will continue to do what generates for them the most profit. Spend your hard earned money how you want, but I implore you to consider the alternatives (e.g. using their competitors or keeping books raw) until they begin to do what is right by thier customers.
