I'm 63, & have an upcoming total shoulder replacement. This gives me confidence in the process. I had a hip replacement 14 months ago, & I'd do it again! Both procedures are on my left side. Osteoarthritis sucks!

I had an anatomic replacement completed about 15 weeks ago. My range of motion is about 80-85%. Strength is SLOWLY coming back, right now about 40% of pre surgery. I'm 55.

Lisa, how did your reverse procedure go, I'm probably looking at having it done in the future. A reverse procedure looks a lot better than an anatomic procedure.

What the heck!! I’m looking at RC surgery again! I had it in June . Then fell twice . Then had it again in Oct . And i can tell it’s not working … i asked them to replace my shoulder in June . Now it’s Nov and will probably have to have a shoulder replaced..

Congratulations! I had my right shoulder replaced last year and my left shoulder replaced last week. I’ve regained full range of motion in my right should and have very little discomfort in my week old left shoulder. I’m 63 and excited to get back to painless activities.

@@moniquegobbo2489, yes my range of motion, even behind, is now as good as it’s been since before my shoulder injury and I’m able to do some with the left after 8 weeks. I expect the left to be as good as new within a few months.

@@3on4off that's fantastic. I hope my surgery was good as yours was. How's lifting someone said no more then 20 pounds my Dr said if I lifted it before I'll be able to after but I'm worried my arm will fall off. Sounds stupid to say but 64 yrs of my own equipment now something new is odd.

@@moniquegobbo2489, 7 months after my right shoulder I was doing 50 pushups a day and doing some curls with 30 lbs. you’ll sense as your recovery progresses , just how soon you’ll be able to start lifting weight. Don’t be in a rush!!!! Let it come naturally. Physical therapy will certainly help speed the process. It did for my right shoulder and currently is for my left. Good luck! You’ll be fine.

I’m 23 and dislocated my shoulder for the fourth time. Two surgery’s prior didn’t help so now I will plan on getting a shoulder replacement or at least the parts that are damaged too much. I’m really scared I have to admit but I hope I can lifetime life better again after this and be able to sleep and not worry that my shoulder does a little dance and dislocates in my sleep or caused by a small impact. I really hope your shoulder is doing good so far and wish you all the best. I’m simply searching for people who got a replacement to connect and feel less alone with my situation so thanks for letting me rant here

That’s great news… I had a total knee replacement done five years ago, best decision I ever made, five weeks ago I had a total shoulder replacement. I feel great and can’t wait to be where you are with my recovery… I must say the mobility and recovery is much easier then my knee replacement… I was in the house for weeks and was very limited at the time compared to this shoulder replacement… thanks for the encouragement 👏🏽

I can only imagine that it’s meant like when you have pain from damaged bones etc constantly in your daily life, a little bit of pain or a few little stings only 7 weeks after the surgery it is indeed like being pain free.

Still not at 100% range of motion, that part. When attempting to go beyond the comfortable range of motion, there will be discomfort & pain. And not like pre-surgery pain either, tho.
