Does Hand Soap Expire? Tips for Knowing When to Replace It
Have you ever noticed an expiration date on your hand soap bottle? Yes? Us too. So, does that mean hand soap expires? Most hand soaps don't have a strict expiration date like perishable food items. Instead, they usually come with a 'best by' date, which can be found on the outside of the packaging. So, what happens after this date? Well, the soap won't suddenly become harmful or toxic. However, its effectiveness can diminish over time. Over time, the ingredients in the soap can break down, leading to a change in texture, smell, and color. It might also become less effective at cleaning your hands and killing germs. If your soap looks cloudy, smells off, or has separated, it's probably tim...

    What I'm wondering is, my take out aluminum containers have that thin cardboard like lid on it. That can be used in the oven and if so up to what temp?

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 2 дня назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Great question. The thin cardboard-like lid on your aluminum takeout containers is NOT designed for use in the oven. These lids are usually coated with a thin layer of foil to help keep the contents warm and to provide some level of insulation during transportation to and from the store or during delivery. They are NOT typically oven-safe. Using them in the oven could lead to burning or even catching fire, especially at higher temperatures. If you want to reheat food in the oven, it's safer to remove the cardboard lid and cover the aluminum container with aluminum foil instead. Always check the packaging or manufacturer's instructions if available, as they might provide specific guidance.

    Honestly I wouldn’t even consider using a 16 gauge cord in a commercial application. You have to take into consideration the amperage requirement (usually located somewhere on the machine) the machine needs and the length of the cord. At 50 feet a 16 gauge cord can only handle 13 amps and at 100 feet only 10 amps. If the machine requires 12 amps then you’re already at or past the safety limit. Adding an additional extension cord of ANY gauge will simply compound the problem and drop the amperage even further before it gets to the machine (and increase the likelihood of machine damage over time) because extension cords act as resisters and the longer they are the bigger the resister becomes and the less electricity can get passed along. To minimize this loss you’ll want to use a larger gauge cord first such as a 10 gauge or 12 gauge connected to the outlet since they can carry more amps per feet, and THEN, if absolutely necessary, a lower gauge such as a 14 gauge. Think of it like a series of pipes in your building. If your water main is the diameter of a drinking straw it won’t matter how big the pipe it connects to next is because that “drinking straw” will ultimately be your limiting factor.

      Hello! Thanks for watching. While some electrostatic sprayers should only be used with their manufacturers’ line of disinfectants and sanitizers, most electrostatic sprayers can be used with any products that have been approved for use by the EPA. So, that said, you will need to confirm with the manufacturer to identify the chemical(s) approved for use in your sprayer.

    Rinse with hot water or cold water?

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 7 дней назад

      Hello and thanks for watching our content! When it comes to rinsing floor pads, it's best to use luke warm or cold water. This helps to preserve the integrity of the pad's fibers and adhesives, ensuring they last longer and perform effectively. Hot water, on the other hand, can weaken these materials over time, leading to quicker deterioration. So, for optimal maintenance and longevity of your floor pads, always opt for cold water when rinsing.

    How does this compare to the R14 by Tennant?

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 28 дней назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Great question! The machines are similar. Both have a 28, inch path, 28-gallon tanks, restorative mode and quick clean mode. The ES4000 stands out because it can also be used as a sweeper. It has a dry sweep mode that allow you to pre-sweep carpets. Now you can use one machine for both sweeping and extracting. The R14 is only an extractor. You can also pre-treat a carpet with it as well, although we don’t really endorse that process. Finally, it has a very unique recovery spray feature for dry sweeping that actually turns the dust into water. This way you can just empty the water and not have to worry about the dust getting all over the recovery tank. To learn more about the difference between the two machines, schedule a time to talk with one of our Equipment Specialists in your area: www.imperialdade.com/help-center/general-inquiries?pathname=/

    I am struggling to understand difference between doodle mop and scrubber? can they be used interchangeable? e.g. use scrubber on hardwood or epoxy floors, and use mop on tile and concrete?

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 22 дня назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Both the Doodle Mop and Doodle Scrub can both be used on any hard floor surface whether it’s epoxy and tile or hardwood and concrete. The task you’re trying to accomplish will determine which one you should use. Typically, the Doodle Mop is used to wash the floor using a replaceable or disposable microfiber pad and the Doodle Scrub can be used to wash a floor but with the different pads available. Doodle Scrub can also be used for stripping finish, doing restorative scrubbing on tiled floors with grout. The Doodle Scrub is a little heavier than the Doodle Mop so it will do a better job when doing a deep clean. The only things interchangeable would be the handles whether you have the corded versions or battery versions. The pads for a Doodle Scrub cannot be used on a Doodle Mop because of the size difference.

  • @Mssuperclean

    Superhelpful! thanks! Do you scrub baseboards wet or dry with doodle scrub? If wet, do you use PH neutral or something else? That is a very neat tool!

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 22 дня назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Scrubbing the baseboard wet will give you better results. You can use a PH neutral cleaner because it does not have to be rinsed. You can also use something a little stronger if needed and depending on what the baseboard is made of like a tile and grout cleaner or some kind of degreaser. Keep in mind tile and grout cleaners and most degreasers need to be rinsed. If it’s one of the vinyl baseboards you’ll want to use just the neutral cleaner. With any cleaner you use, be sure to check the manufacturer’s recommendation for proper mixture and what surfaces it can be used on.

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Great question. Burnishing your dining hall floor only once a month may lead to a decrease in the finish's appearance over time. To maintain the desired level of shine and protect the finish, it's important to burnish as frequently as needed based on foot traffic and wear. Regular burnishing helps preserve the finish and keep the floor looking its best.

    My tile floors are very old. Probably fifty years or so. They may also be asbestos tiles. We used a commercial stripper several times and even a scraper to remove some areas that had multiple areas of wax. After the tiles were completely clean we did two layers of commercial wax and they looked great, but within a few days they were all sticky again. We have no idea why and neither does my landlord. We believe that the only solution is to lay another floor on top but this means removing all the baseboard, and it will be very expensive. If you have any other ideas that would be great.

On tile floor, there used to be a couple little lines (probably dirt) but it was pretty dry, lately its leaving almost like a glaze the entire width of the squeegee. I have torn it apart twice. Checked the hoses, no holes. Cleaned everything i can think of including around the electric motor. I tested the suction with my hand and it seems to be functioning. No whistling like air is getting in somewhere etc. The squeegee is nearly new, flipped it and had no change. I dont see an adjustment for the squeegee but it is folded down pretty good against the floor. Im feeling at a loss lol. Its not dumping more water than it should. Im out of ideas.

    What if you wax over before 1st coat is dry?

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade Месяц назад

      Hello, and thanks for watching! Great question. Waxing over a floor before the first coat is dry can lead to several issues: Poor Adhesion: The second coat may not adhere properly to the first coat, leading to uneven coverage and potential peeling or flaking. Streaks and Bubbles: The wet first coat can mix with the new layer, causing streaks, bubbles, or a cloudy appearance. Extended Drying Time: The drying process can be prolonged, as the underlying layer is still wet and trapped moisture can cause complications. Damage to Finish: The overall finish can be compromised, resulting in a less durable and less aesthetically pleasing surface. To ensure the best results, it's crucial to allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next.

    thanks! which one would be safe and provide great results for cleaning/buffering an epoxy covered floor? There are many black marks on the floor

    • @ImperialDade
      @ImperialDade 2 месяца назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching. Great Question! Without seeing a picture of the floor, the general rule with epoxy floors is that a red pad should clean it well with the correct chemical. A blue pad may work but could scratch the epoxy. If you decide to try to the blue pad, make sure to test it it in a small, inconspicuous area first. Epoxy-finished floors are fairly soft, so you must be cautious of the pads used. That said, the floor cleaner is also a factor. Never use a heavy-duty degreaser as this could also damage the floor. It can be tough to remove black marks, but with an all-purpose cleaner and a red pad, you should get a decent result. Thanks! can this be used safely on epoxy covered floors with microfiber pads or red nylon pads?

      Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes! You can absolutely use a Doodle Scrub on epoxy floors. The blue turf pad shown in the video would be best pad for the job. However, a red pad would work as well.

      @@arnoldwilsonsen492 Hi! We used an acidic grout restorer for this demo. However, this chemical should only be used as a last resort as it can damage the grout if left on the floor for more than a few minutes. Always start with an alkaline degreaser that when left to dwell for a few minutes and then scrub you will get great results 95% of the time.

    We have a walk behind T300 autoscrubber , can that do a quality job stripping vct tile compared to Swing arm machine?

      Hi there! Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, an automatic floor scrubber is not the best machine to remove wax from your floor. The machine does not have enough pressure to adequately remove finish. We recommend a swing machine for floor stripping. Aside from reduced pressure, using an automatic floor scrubber to strip wax from the floor can result in machine damage because there is now way to properly clean she stripper and wax residue from the bottom of the machine leading to mechanical failure.
