We have a passion for traveling, exploring and adventures - and want to share our journey with you all! Join us as we embark on a whole new chapter of our life as SAILORS and learning all about it!

First Time Sailing our Beneteau Oceanis Ep.3
Soooo here it is - a look into our first week of actually sailing our Beneteau Oceanis 390 aka our floating home! After living aboard our sailboat for 3 weeks we finally got to take her out and set sail. And let me tell you - it was AMAZIIING! But as new sailors with no previous experience, it was exciting and terrifying both at the same time 😬🤙🏼⛵️
With the help of some good friends, we got smooth champagne sailing, action with heavy heel, overnight anchoring at Ny-Hellesund and a two night stay at Bragdøya Harbour. As always the Norwegian weather gives you both summer, spring and autumn within a week - but WOW what a trip it has been!
Finally we are a bit more confident in ourself and man...

Hey guys, super refreshingly fun and real content. Hope the boat life is going well. I’ve owned a few boats and currently sail an Island Packet in the UK so understand how overwhelming the repairs and maintenance can be. How intimidating sailing can be also, but its so worth all the hard work. The experiences you’ll have and the memories you’ll make will will be your happiest and stay with you forever. I hope to see episode 4 soon. ⛵️👍🏽😁

Inspirational guys! We have a 4-5 year goal to do this too. Our son is currently 2 y/o, so we are thinking about waiting until he is about 6 y/o. Looking forward to watching your journey and picking up some advice along the way. Congratulations on getting to this point!
Hi and thank you for the lovely comment, we love hearing about others that also want to pursue this dream 😍🌊⛵️ We just kinda went all in, many years of dreaming but not so much time planning, just went with it 😂 Do you have sailing experience from before? Do you also dream about traveling (sailing) full time? Our goal for the next 1-2 years is finding our way down to the Mediterranean
We have very little experience, but have just bought a trailer sailer to start learning. Our plan is to buy a yacht in the Mediterranean, then sail it all the way back to NZ via the Caribbean over a few years. Life's an adventure!

Yes one day I do with the wife. Maybe going to start slow and buy a small 25-30ft weekender sailboat to get use to it. Baby steps. I’ll be watching y’all. Happy sailing

When you re set those port windows you need to use a UV resistant flexible adhesive .. That or devise a mask to cover the area that the adhesive sticks to. On cars they have a mask made up of small dots. Use a dehumidifyer whilst your at the dock if you can . White vinegar will safely remove mould from most surfaces and is safe to use inside.
Thanks a lot! Yeah we scraped it clean and then removed the grease with acetone. Afterwards we used tec 7 that is also uv resistant with a layer behind the glass. And then on the sides for a double seal 🙌🏽🔥
@@threetravelingpages 🤞🏻 Crossed it works and holds over time . Eyebrow strips above each window can help deflect a lot of water running off the cabin roof or decks.. 💭Larger eyebrow visors can help cut down the amount of full high sun heating up the interior .. but that's dependent on space and clearances. 🤔

Vacuum bags for storage. If you have a vacuum onboard obviously! But will keep the damp off things. Keep up the good work i love your passion for the new life. Best wishes from Northern Ireland😊

So, you want to go from Norway to the Mediterranean,... what's your plan for getting past the rudder-chewing Orcas off the coasts of Portugal, Spain, and Morocco? Just curious.
So far we are hoping outlive them. Plan 2 is painting the hull to look like a orca… what do you think? 🤔
@@threetravelingpages Painting the hull to resemble an Orca is an interesting idea. I don't think it would deter them, but maybe it would make them choke on sea water from laughing so hard.
