How wonderful to be part of a group that rings Cathedral Bells. I wonder when churches first started to ring bells.

Chelmsford Cathedral - 25 August 2025 - did you use a Tardis?

We only had 4 at galleywood this morning but unfortunately not enough of us for method minimus ringing so just had called changes short bursts as only 4 of us

Il have to try that when conducting grandsire at galleywood when we have enough ringers to ring methods on a Monday evening

Oh well done!! Watched it all the way through. Sounded beautiful. I know the bell towers are pretty small but such a shame we can't see everyone. I'm still watching these hoping it will hell with my call changes as I'm still getting lost and confused. Hope it doesn't take too long before it all clicks. Well done everyone. Thank you for sharing. I'm struggling doing call changes. When someone changes with me I'm totally lost. I'm going to watch this a few times to try to work out where I'm going wrong. Well done Bell No 3, that's usually me 😊 I like Bell two's trousers. 😊 Will look forward to more call change videos. Hope they help me.

We had 8 this morning but not enough to ring a method so I ended up conducting called changes instead it didn’t go as well as me and Brian would of liked but better luck hopefully tomorrow evening I like to make up my own changes so it’s not too boring

Was nice hearing the bells this morning after arriving and walking through the cathedral grounds would of come up but didn’t want to intrude specially as I had come into town straight from my own tower in galleywood where we had some long rings of called changes as unfortunately me and Brian don’t have enough ringers for methods unfortunately so stuck with called changes which I put together to call so it’s less boring

Had no idea there was 6 people pulling ropes every time.

Equally annoying as bagpipes but less tuneful.

I gather this is your home tower, I never rung these bells but I have been to Chelmsford a lot of times. These bells sound quite good for a Warner set. Last visit to Chelmsford was to attend a Mormon Wedding which of course does not have bells.

One thing I did notice is that all the ringers I could see fully were all left handed like myself, it's unusual to see that many left handers all ringing together in one band, lovely ringing 😊

Nice ringing! I was surprised at first how many left handed ringers there were, and ringing an anti-clockwise ring! I realize now that the camera had inverted the image haha
