So today I took the Super Coupe out for a drive. It's been about a year since I last drove it. Such a fun and unique car to drive.

Lionel Polar Express G Scale Train Today I am showing off my battery powered Lionel Polar Express G scale train. This train is a great train set for little children. www.amazon.com/2000mAh-Battery-Robots-Security-Charger/dp/B001BBMZFU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1479338559&sr=8-3&keywords=9.6 volt battery

American Flyer - Polar Express - This is my new Polar Express set. I love the sounds and slow speed operation. So far my only complaint is the amount of smoke the engine puts out. Otherwise the set works great.

Cool!
I had one my parents bought it new. I took over the payments and 82. It was black with red interior came from the factory with air dam, rear window louver, spoiler, rear wheel flares. with the road runner package the car horn sounded like The Warner Bros. cartoons road runner, Beep beep! The memories I made in that car. Priceless. That’s why I’m here now I was reminiscing.
I owned a '78 Aspen coupe! The car had a "318", console Torqueflite AND KICKED MAJOR ASS! I bought a '79 Volare "Super Coupe" (CHEAP) that PUNKS DROVE TO DEATH!
Absolutely love that car!. Such a rare car- it was music to my ears to hear that rowdy cam and see that reverse manual valve body Trans. Now I have a new dream car. Absolute bad ass perfect restoration with the right modifications in my opinion. Love that rare Volarè Super Coupe! Please don't change a thing!
I had a 79 Plymouth Roadrunner my brother rolled it 11 or 12 times and tore it all to pieces I ran 680s in the eighth of a mile Street Tires & Mufflers small block would like to find another one to fix !!!
Qwantwz hp??
Man i havnt seen one a those cars n decades ! Way cool ! Original owner ! Great shape still ! That 360 was a good little motor ! If we in switzerland we d be sayin Sveeeeet ! Be safe brother !
Back in 85 My uncle had the 77 orange road runner with white interior crank back sun roof really nice car. He built the 360 up pretty good put a 456 gear in it and back then it was considered a pretty fast street car. Probably wasn't even 300 hp but with 456 gear felt like a rocket lol.
Will the 383 fit in here or the engine bay isn't big enough?
Beautiful car!
Beauty car.
I want to find a junk yard gem volare with a slant six and swap it with a 426 hemi and rebuild the slant six just for kicks. And then shave off all the badges and markings so nobody really knows what the hell it is. That's deep on the bucket list, though. What you have there is a super rare, undervalued car.
I see an 8¾ rearend, a great addition
Garbage dude
Very nice
Man that Volare is nice 💯
Nice Super Coupe! I had a '76 Volare w/ 318 and pretty rare 4 speed manual on the floor w/ 4th gear overdrive. That thing was a great highway cruiser. I'd get 25 mpg at 65 mph, (speed limit was 55 back then), all day long. They had smog stuff choking the engine down. They weren't considered "muscle cars" back then, but they are a great platform for a restomod now. You can probably get one for a decent price compared to just about any other '70's Mopar. Don't see many of them anymore. I think most of them rusted into oblivion. One mod that completly changes the look of the Volare/Aspen is to trim the bottom half of the bumpers off and section them in tight to the body on the sides. Those 5mph bumpers are so chunky it really makes the rest of the car look heavy. Saw one with that bumper treatment and it looked like a different car.
What vehicle is the grill on this from? I found a 78 Volare Premier wagon that has some missing pieces of the grille that cracked off and was wondering what would fit in its place. Thanks! Super cool cars
@@blinkme33511 Thanks! Maybe I'll see if I can't match the plastic and just repair it 🤔
This would be the perfect platform for a real life Roadkill build from twisted metal
Do you still have it?
5.9 Liter?
@@blinkme33511 nice i have a 318 on my plymouth =)
My Dad had one one of those during the late 80s, and early 90s. I was just an elementary school kid. It wasn’t as colorful or souped up as this one is, but still.... That car was a beast!!!! I used to tell him that the car’s front facia “looked” like him.
With A LOT of work on the body and brakes, and LITTLE work on A GREAT drivetrain. I KNOW YOUR "BUILT" MoPar IS AWESOME! The Aspens/Volares, would have been LEGENDARY if the "nondrivetrain" rest of the car could have "kept up"! These cars LITERALLY HAD IT ALL!
GOD IT'S BEAUTIFUL I want one so bad! Buy the way that's a pistol grip shifter for an automatic did not come with the car but Awesome anyway!
I would like to see a pistol grip shifter and the steering wheel from the Barracuda in that car it would give that car certain touch
Cool car
Nice Super Coupe💯 and i like that shifter! Where did you get it? I have a 79 and 80 Aspen R/T one with 360-4 and the other 340-4 both 3 speed auto with suregrips!
Está bien chingón 👍
Got me a Dodge SC undergoing restomoding.
Para que le mueve la palanca de velocidades si es automático. Que no mame!
Awesome I have one my dad bought new with t tops factory. Never seen another one like mine
I would tell that dude in the passenger side to hit the bricks!
Is that car play that song whenever it's running?
everyone says 70's was the end of muscle & for the big blocks it was but there were still a few cool cars that slipped in, the 80's was really when cars took a nose dive. look at a 68 0r 69 Torino Cobra 429scj then a Torino in the 80's... a slap in the face. you dont see many of these Volare's
Sounds like a mean machine.
😎👍😎
Definitely NOT 1:24th scale as Lionel claims,
This is the original "wide body" Dodge.
I had one in 1979 . Awesome Ride.👍😎🇺🇲
Nice Aspen
So cool to see these older videos. No drop at the beginning. Thanks for posting.
Remember the old commercial VOLARE OOOHHH 😂
Why do people keep putting music in videos & ruining them?
What’s the deal with that horrible sound... that lousy music
needs a good mechanic
Thx 4 the ride. Enjoyed every second of it. I've noticed that you shift with your automatic trans like it was a manual. Is that a special powertrain that came with the car or an aftermarket? Sounded very, very good. I'd like to own a Volare Road Runner one day.
@@blinkme33511 Thanks for that info. I am curious about how you were able to mount your camera and/or phone while driving. IDK if you're a photographer or not (still new to your channel, obviously), but I've seen many photographers/videographers-even those who aren't-do that, and do it very well. The closest I've come was doing a few time-lapse videos with my iPhone attached to the dash. BTW, love the central perspective. Again, I enjoyed the (now second) ride, and I look forward to many more of your adventures with you and your Plymouth. Plymouth ROCKS (no pun intended)! I've owned two of them when I was teenager.
I have a 1979 Dodge Aspen R/T it has the same red interior on red exterior mine has the factory tuff steering wheel with the factory slap stick shifter and the factory rally rims and 360 4bbl
The musical sound track got rid of me.
with the engine sounding good , I agree lose that music
Beautiful ride and great video!!
