I noted these % of CPU from the very start of HTOP : With 5 apps : 21.3 : 200 42 77 3 (Time 3 - 4 sec) 22 : 55 26 20 15 51 25 7 4 (Time 5 - 6 sec) With 10 tabs : 21.3 : 200 33 115 15 50 17 (4 sec) 17 18 17 17 (8 - 9 sec) 22 : 49 21 25 24 19 4 (4 sec) 2 7 4 10 7 5 (9 sec) Mint 22 is better globally, especially at the very start so when the CPU is highly busy. Now Mint 21.3 seems better after 3 sec in the case of 5 Tabs. Any idea why ? And should the CPU be a criterion for estimating consumption ? (the fan will turn in consequence)

I don't care who the best is or wants to be the best. My concern is build quality. I can do the rest. I'm running multiple at the moment alongside windows. May add another one. But they need to know what they are doing with the boot-loader, grub and playing nice with others. My setup works flawlessly. From the minute you hit my boot-screen it is WTF. Someone trying to get into my volumes will have some fun. I have 7 desktops. lol My system has some nice specs so I am taking advantage of the power.

520 mb is so much, on Alpine i686 it uses 40mb idle in tty and around 140mb in Xfce. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 6000 with 512mb btw.

Nothing worked, ive tried so many fixes already that I'm close to throwing this PC in the trash. When I had 32gb installed it reserved near nothing, two ram sticks died so I took them out. Now its locked at reserving 8gb of those 16gb. I cant play games, I cant even use unreal engine to make a simple game without the computer hogging the remaining unreserved ram. It at my wits end.
