Tervetuloa Kreikkaan! Ravintola jossa söimme, nimeltään Mermaids and G...

    Thessaloniki was founded in 315 BC. Earlier, there were various ancient settlements in the same location, as well as the ancient city of Thermi (Therma). Ancient Thermi was an important port of ancient Greece in the period 1.000-350 BC. Essentially, Thessaloniki succeeded ancient Thermi. 5.000 year old settlements were also discovered in the wider area. During the excavations of the Thessaloniki metro, 300.000 ancient objects and pieces of the ancient Egnatia Odos were discovered, where at that time was a street with shops, just like today's modern Egnatia Odos in our city. Everyone realizes that the entire Thessaloniki is built on ancient sites, on which thousands of apartment buildings were illegally built.

    Days later a young man was caught doing graphiti just outside the station was arrested and finally fined quite alot of money for his reckless action. Also on the same station (Venizelou) on the wall surrounding the stairs at least a dozen cups of coffee where found expended. 😡😡😡

  • @Rousseau4469
    @Rousseau4469 3 дня назад

    The station didn't flooded due to the rain. Some jerk lighted a cigarette and the smoke detectors were activated and the springles activated and begun flood with water to extinguish the detected fire and smoke.

  • @Rousseau4469
    @Rousseau4469 3 дня назад

    There are no bins in the station for 2 major reasons. That littering would be unavoidable and pretty soon it would brade dirty by food and drinks and pukes as they do alot in Northern Greece by drinking tons of tsipouro and ouzo. So the stations would be reeking by the smell even if the cleaners did double or even triple shifts. Second reason is that there was a research conducted to all European Metros but also all over all around the world that it was noticed that bins was the favor spot for terrorists planting bombs causing Mayhem and chaos. So they correctly excluded them and banned food and drink inside a station. Those who wish to use it can go to a shop and do these things and then take it to its destination free of these objects.

    Hi, there, I enjoyed watching your video! As a civil engineer working on big infrastructural projects I can tell you it's not as easy as you think to steal archeological finds as they're being dug up and investigated, this is not the 1800's. There's a whole system in place that the public is unaware of. Workers do not have access to the artefacts like you think and quite frankly, they are too busy with their tasks and tight schedules to care 😂

    I give it a year until half the tiles are cracked with stepped gum on them, and the lights of the exhibits area burn out and never get replaced. Modern greeks think that all you have to do is make something pretty and never maintain it. Just look at every building in greece, apart from banks and big companies.

    • @michaelt1507
      @michaelt1507 4 дня назад

      No, that doesn't apply to the Greeks at all, quite the opposite! What you say applies mainly only to the public sector and not to private households and businesses. Look at the homes of ordinary people in Greece, the restaurants, cafes and bars and the constant renovations to keep them up to date and shiny. I have not seen anything like this in Germany, for example, where the bars etc. very often smell musty. In the case of the Metro, I'm sure it will be kept clean and upgraded.

It took them 16 years to dig, for 4 main reasons: 1)some people pocket the money 2)they found much more ancient artifacts than they expected 3)the ground of Thessaloniki wasn’t easy 4)the communists and other leftists delayed the excavations for political reasons

    ChatGPT says that the "weeping eyes" graffiti in Kavala, Greece, is a prominent feature of the city's street art, created by an artist known as Diro. Often painted in various locations such as walls, doors, and buildings, these eyes have become a symbolic and recognisable part of the urban landscape. They evoke a sense of mystery and connection as they appear to "watch" passers-by, sparking curiosity and interpretation among residents and visitors. While specific interpretations vary, such art invites reflections on surveillance, empathy, and social commentary. The eyes have become an informal emblem of Kavala’s street art identity, representing both the creativity of its community and the evolving narrative of the city's visual culture.
