Curious to know from you Matthew how/why the name adaptive yoga was selected. Whilst it may seem obvious, I'd like your wholesome explanation. Maybe your next youtube talk.
This is Matthew. I am not exactly sure. That all things, the term for me was organic in origination. It has a lot to do with a play off of the word adaptations. The term adaptive has a built-in acknowledgement that there is not one version of adaptation that covers all students...that yoga can be adaptive in nature and must strive to continually adapt to meet a particular situation. It requires that the teachers must stay fluid with what they they know. Yoga has the potential to adapt and still remain faithful to the core principles of asana.

The workshops of Matthew's that I participated in more than a decade ago were honestly the best I have ever attended, because he truly understands the purpose and intention of yoga asana. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and allowing ALL people to benefit from yoga.
I remember a time I guess about 25 years ago my kids were at the park and I was just sitting on the swing swinging slowly back and forth and this feeling of just completeness and peace and love and perfection just float over me and I don't know where it came from I think it was a gift from God because he knew I needed a break from what was going and I really don't have the right words to describe it but it was what heaven must feel like and I find myself going back through my mind all the time wishing for that gift again
I am 52 years old and I can say yes to everything that you described. I've hated myself my whole life. Yes I can say without a shadow of a doubt that my parents did not love me and yes I had a brother with a disability more than one actually more than one disability know I am legally blind he came out of nowhere I said it was due to glaucoma but nobody ever told me I had to go, or could I know in my head that I'm not what I tell myself but it's not the same as believing it I'm on my third divorce with 4 grown kids the two oldest of which I still support I need very much help
I'm so grateful for Matthew. I've been living with an invisible disability for over 20 years. Living in our shallow culture/society, the depth of his words and understanding are a healing balm for me. He's doing the work of true Mastery - a very rare thing. Bless you, Matthew.
