Great review! I tried Ingenious today for the first time, it's good but probably not the most popular game around. Like you said, it's best for math fans and most kids don't like math.

I both have the 1942 and Anniversary Edition. The Anniversary edition is so well designed and prepared that I don't want to open it's contents. Plus it is a collector's item.

It is not. I have played this game, it's all about understanding what to do.

You should reread the section on monster movement. The movement of a monster is controlled by moving in the direction of the colored arrows as controlled by the monster die color.

I feel like this video is designed to allow all viewers on youtube to take a break, come over and snuggle up close to your monitor and take a little nap. Seriously because there was no sound and everything moved as slow as it did, I felt like I was going to fall asleep during this video. I suppose you had your reasons for no audio (I'm not sure what reasons those are), but this review was horrid. You can add audio, or at the very least, some kind of thematic music that could match the style of the game. It's not complicated. Now take time to pause from my comment and try it out.

You explained things pretty well, :) I have only played Carcassonne once and fell in love with it so I ended up buying the big box to save myself time and money lol and now I will show my kids how to play. I truly recommend this game to every one of all ages , its a fun game for all to play.

You can actually use your character's ability at any point in your turn, even getting money for the certain color districts. Say if you're the merchant, you can build a few green districts and then call your ability to get extra gold for those. It says all this in the rulebook.

Hello, I am learning this game and have started the second test run. After completing the action round the instructions for the resolution round state that the ship should be returned to its initial state. Why does it have to be returned to its initial state?

Nice little intro--missed a lot of the finer points but still, good high-level view of the game. It's a lot of fun, combat system works just fine once you understand it--and yes, the game can be quite long, it's a fairly epic experience--especially when you add the Burning Crusade expansion with the Outland board/quests/overlords. However, if you like WOW and fantasy boardgames, you'll like WOWTBG.
