VW has lost the plot. My 2016 Golf has now done 150,000 km. I was contemplating buying a new one but, after looking at the screens on the new model, I’ve decided to keep my current car as loooong as I can. I want a car - not a BOEING 747. Imagine trying to perform simple functions like changing the temperature while driving. One would need to attend a tertiary level course just to learn all the functions on the screen. A great number of people who drive Golfs are upwards of 50 years old and are too sensible to want such a range of silly gimmicks. Really old people would be confused by all that touch screen gadgetry. It’s downright dangerous. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). A real shame because it’s a gorgeous looking car. My next car will be one that is simple and safe to drive - vis a vis - which I can forget about as I concentrate on my driving and, to that end, has the LEAST amount of distracting complicated gimmickry - and is comfortable, economical and reliable and, if they still exist - a proper (manual) handbrake.

The TDI doesn't have dual exhausts. The right chrome insert is a fake one. The TDI's exhaust exits into the left insert with a dual tip. (Mind that the right tip of those two have the tendency to melt some of the factory ABS bumper insert if the car is idling too long and the atmosphere is too hot, eg. on a summer day.) The flat bottom steering wheel was an option on the list, not factory standard on the VRS.
